Help settle a dispute (1 Viewer)

Most leagues that I have been in declare the total points champ the leader after the regular season.

Yahoo stopped tallying points after the regular season, so I think owner A has a better argument.

BUT, if it is not spelled out in your rules, they should split the money and you should clarify for next year.

Owner A is right. Not all teams played in week 15/16 I'm assuming. Not fair to penalize a non playoff team twice.
 I don't think it really needs to be written in the rules because it should be common sense that if all teams don't play the same number of games how can they all compete for the Points Champ money?
All of the teams did play 16 games according to OP.
OK, then I take it back, it should be written into the rules. But since nothing is written, I would still have to go with the regular season points.Maybe the fairest thing to do, is split the money between the 2 owners, then write it into the rules for next year.

In the NFL, the "most points in a season"record does NOT include the playoffs. It's just the regular season. Even Yahoo understood that you don't include post-season stats and numbers in a regular season tally.

The team with the most total points at the end of the regular season should win. Leagues put that in there to reward teams who might have had a great reg season but either missed the playoffs or lose to a lesser team in the playoffs. If you include playoff numbers, you reward the h2h winner since they outscored their opponents in the playoffs. That defeats the whole purpose.

You can split it between the two if you want but whatever you do, do NOT put any of your own money into it so you can bribe a crybaby into staying as someone suggested earlier. If someone wets their diaper and leaves, let them leave. If they take a few mindless zombies with them...great. You have a whole offseason to replace those owners. Make the call you think is right, stick with it and let the chips fall where they may. To me, it's clear that the whole point is to reward a good regular season in case they don't win the league or make the playoffs. Extending it that through the playoffs rewards the guy who won it all again. That's not the point, so let the crybaby crawl away.

If Yahoo doesn't tally points after week 14...isn't it obvious that the total point winner should be the regular season point winner?...What are you supposed to do, go over each owner's line up and manually figure the points?...that seem silly.
Agree with this.

funny how many people know the answer without having the rules to get in the way of what they know.how about you post your rules, not your paraphrasing of them.
hate to bump my own post, but absent the answer to this everything else is wild speculation and conjecture that may or may not apply.op: click rules, the ctrl a, then ctrl c, then ctrl v. it's not so hard.

Don't you think that if there was a rule that said "points winner is based on regular season" or "points winner is based on entire season", we wouldn't have this thread?
