In an NL only league that is a rottisserie scoring format.

I have Bruce and am loving the boost he has given me, but as all the experts are saying, I am trying to sell high. I have been going back and forth with an owner and we are close to a deal - he is offering me A. Soriano, Victorino and Voloquez for Bruce, C Young and Valverde.

My closers are Valverde, Franklin and now Smoltz. I do not want to trade Valverde and am thinking of offering Franklin since his future is somewhat suspect with Izz coming back. If I substitute Franklin I know I cannot get Voloquez. He has Harang, Zmbrano, Haren, Marmol, and Lyon.

First of all should I take Soriano and Victorino for Bruce and Young alone or do I try and include Franklin for one of those pitchers?

Thanks for your help!

What starting pitchers do you have? I'm always leery of moving a closer for a starter in Roto-format scoring (unless I'm punting).

assuming this is 5x5, 12 team NL only league...I'd rate Soriano a few $ over Young, and Bruce a few $ over Victorino, who might lose time to Werth. Personally, i'd rather have the Bruce/Young duo, but that's just a matter of preference, not one of value.

Webb, Cueto, Penny, Lincecum, Billingsley, Scherzer (not sure where he will end up, heard possibly closing at some point)

I'm with this guy.

I don't like the deal for you as it stands because you're killing your closer depth.

If you take the pitchers out, I think being able to pull Soriano and Victorino is pretty good, especially if you could use Victorino's steals. Soriano is way better than Young and I think Victorino could actually make a respectable effort to match Bruce the rest of the way.

Let's put it this way: If Bruce has a Ryan Braun-like season, then you lose the deal. It all depends on whether you think the kid can do that. There's a part of me that thinks he can and there's a part of me that also says now is the time to sell high.

I agree in that the sticks are a wash. I will assume that this is NOT a keeper league, cause' that would alter the landscape. If Bruce Mashes like Braun did last year, you lose, but Soriano ought to have a great last 4 months in his own right.

Relative to pitching. If you can move Franklin for Volquez do it ( highly unlikely the other owner will go for this). Otherwise, stand pat. You have good starting pitching and do not need to deplete your closers.

Good LUck!
