Lots of mocks. So many I feel compelled to add to the chaos since it's a Friday and tomorrow can't get here soon enough. So here is my final offering for this year. There are a lot of trades. I will not bore you with commentary unless you ask.

I actually like this one, and I think this year is "easier" then the last couple. (easier = I will be slightly more accurate then in years past)

1. Oakland - Jamarcus Russell - QB - LSU

2. Altanta - Calvin Johnson - WR - GTech

3. Cleveland Browns - Brady QUinn - QB - ND

4. Tampa Bay - Joe Thomas

5. Buffalo - Adrian Peterson

6. Washington - Laron Landry

7. Minnesota - Gaines Adams

8. Detroit - Jamaal Anderson

9. Miami - Levi Brown - OT - PSU

10. Houston - Leon Hall - CB - UM

11. San Fransisco - Patrick Willis - ILB - OM

12. Arizona - Adam Carriker - DE - UN

13. St. Louis - Justin Harrell - DT - UT

14. Carolina - Greg Olsen - TE - UM

15. Pittsburgh - Reggie Nelson - S - UF

16. Green Bay - Marshaun Lynch - RB - Cal

17. Jacksonville - Michael Griffin - S - UT

18. Cincinnati - Darrelle Revis - CB - Pitt

19. Baltimore - Joe Staley - OT - CMU

20. New York Giants - Ted Ginn - WR - OSU

21. Denver Broncos - Paul Posluszny - LB - PSU

22. Dallas - Dwayne Bowe - WR - LSU

23. Kansas City - Amobi Okoye - DT - UL

24. New England - Alan Branch - DT - UM

25. New York Jets - Chris Houston - CB - UA

26. Philadelphia - Robert Meachem - WR - UT

27. New Orleans - Jon Beason - LB - UM

28. New England - Lawrence Timmons - LB - FSU

29. Tennessee - Aaron Ross - CB - UT

30. San Diego - Brandon Merriweather - S - UM

31. Chicago - Trent Edwards - QB - Stanford

32. Detroit - Jarvis Moss - DE - UF

Where does Baltimore get the juice to move up 10 spots? That's a long way to move without a 3rd rounder...

According to "The Chart" they'd need about 235 value points to make that move. This year's 2nd is more valuable than that, but they have no 3rd rounder (and picking 29th it wouldn't be worth enough by itself anyway). You think Ozzie gives your boys a 2008 2nd rounder (Plus something else) or something like that?

I sure hope the Giants don't draft a WR in the 1st.

I would like to see them trade down if at all possible.

Yes. The Window in Baltimore is going to close in the next few years due to age and player churn. They need impact guys right now to help hold the ship together immediately.

I'll jump out of my bedroom window if the Steelers take Nelson. Way too early for him and one of the last things the Steelers needs is a safety.

Nelson to the Steelers is a definite long shot. They drafted Anthony Smith last year and he showed signs of being a very good complement to Polamalu, on whom they're already talking extension. I don't see using a day 1 pick on a safety, let alone a first rounder.

A) awfulnessatude :football: While I may not agree with it's usage, it's my new favorite word, and a perfectly cromulent one as well.

2) Where are the dancing bears?

.023) I don't think Buff will be getting Peterson. I don't think they'll pay the price to do it and honestly don't think AZ is going to be THAT motivated. And i agree BALT will not jump that far forward.

On the other hand I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be wacky, so who knows.

But nice job regardless.

12. Arizona - Adam Carriker
Bloom? Weird, huh? Maybe Colin and I have the same secret source!? :lmao:

Colin, this match is in my mock even with a trade down, though a little different than yours. I PM'd both Andy and Bloom about a possible tip regarding Wisenhunt and Carriker. I have the Cards taking him in that 16 pick thing at DraftGuys.

Fun and solid Mock, Colin.

I'll stick it in the contest.

Good luck.

:lmao:

Quick question. What does Buffalo give up to get ADP?
:D
mid round pick and a 1st next season. Arizona is a motivated seller since Thomas is off the board.
no way Buffalo makes that trade giving up next year's #1 for a broken RB.If they were insane enough to move up, they would not need to move that high to get Peterson in his injured state.More likely Buffalo moves up to #10 to get Willis.

The trade down makes a lot of sense for AZ...I hope they do this.
makes no sense for the Bills though.they can get enough RB production from a committee incluidng Booker or Jackson in the 3rd round. They have no other way to fill their hole at MLB unless they draft Willis.

To pick nits, I can't see the Pats not taking a DB with one of their two first round picks.
It doesn't seem to me that the Pats have been a team that says we need to have X position filled by Y draft slot. There have been a lot of years recently where they looked like they were desperate for WR and DB help, and got nothing at those two positions early in the draft.

If Branch was there at 1.24, they might.
IMO, if they took Branch at 24 they would take a DB at 28. In this mock, Ross and Merriweather were still around at 28.
I agree with what you're saying, but if they really like one guy (and I don't have any reason to think they really like a linebacker) while a BPA like Branch is slipping in the draft, I can see them taking two non-DBs early. It also seems like the Pats prefer to get pressure (and coverage) from their front seven and safety, to take the pressure off their DBs to perform well. So they don't necessarily need the best DB available, especially if they feel like they have enough depth at the position. And since they never, ever tell us what they think, it's officially a crapshoot. One scenario I like is if the Redskins take Landry, then wait until 1.24 and trade Landry for Samuel and a first. The Redskins like Landry anyways, and I think they'd be willing to trade down if the guy they like is still there. The Patriots almost certainly like Landry, but might not be willing to trade up if the guy they want is there at 1.24. Overall, both teams could win if this happened, and Samuel would almost certainly get his payday.

Branch and Okoye dropped like rocks in this one. Haven't seen too many people predict them in the 20's.
ESPN did last night.
4 years from now, I think that Justin Harrell will be the CLEAR "best DT" from this draft. I don't think it will be close. He has the physical tools, leadership, fire, drive, etc. that you look for in a game-changing DT. That said, I think that Okoye and Branch will be nice players as well. In the right place (somewhere they are used to winning and in-house problems are rare like New England, Indy) a DT like Branch could be a monster.

26. Philadelphia - Robert Meachem - WR - UT :goodposting: I think Philly goes Def.

The Patriots have taken a total of 4 players in the secondary in the top four rounds of their last 4 drafts. So they have been making it a priority. The Patriots under Belichick have taken at least two players that play on the line of scrimmage with their top 4 picks EVERY YEAR. So seoncdary and LOS are pretty good guesses.

Actually they are. They always grab at least 2 players on either line (offensive or defensive) with thei first four picks every year. They ARE desperate for a position - but its not WR and DB help. They are desperate to win the LOS.

Slime to zero chance the Chargers take Merriweather. There is a big article in the uniontribune about it today. AJ didnt bother to bring him in or interview him at the combine. Sure it could be an elaborate smokescreen, but with "character" being a hot topic around here (and the nfl) I am going to take AJs actions as fact.

So how does this lend credence to DY's contention that they will definitely take a DB with one of their first two picks?

14. Carolina - Greg Olsen - TE - UM
Sorry but this makes it less than a great mock and wrong.
You don't think TE is a need for Carolina?
If he was also the best payer available at the time I could see it, but I don't think he is so the need part could wait for a later round.

They might. In more recent drafts they've clearly started taking more DBs.

Not particularily
I happen to disagree. We'll certainly find out tomorrow since I don't see him going before then.
:lmao: ETA: LMAO at the potentially unintentional double entendre re when Olsen will be draftedLove Ten trading down and still get a CB. Now they just need to trade up in the second...

If I were to guess, I think the Pats will use their two first round picks on:Aaron Ross CB Texas

Michael Griffin S Texas

Chris Houston CB Arkansas

Jarvis Moss DE Florida

Jon Beason OLB Miami-Fla

unless someone unexpected falls way farther than anticipated.

Logic tells me that as well but I still have this weird suspicion that if Joe Staley is somehow available at the #24 pick, Belichick will snatch him up. Seems like a Patriot type player.
