Here's an Idea - 4 sport fantasy league (1 Viewer)

I came up with this idea to have a four sport fantasy league based around a calander year. I'm sure this has been thought of before, but I've never seen anything on it. If it would be possible to make the players fantasy stats from the nhl, nfl, nba, and mlb reasonably equal to eachother, it could be possible to have a calander year fantasy season based on total points which includes all 4 sports.

Can you just imagine the draft??? 1.1 LT 1.2 Brodeur 1.3 Nash 1.4 A-rod ... (P.S. I've only played fantasy football, so my little 4 pick mock may be way off...but think of the possibilities!!!)

FWIW, a few of my friends and I had tossed this idea around, but we could never get enough interest to make it work.

You'd have to start during a season (may I suggest baseball, say August timeframe?) and not count that season.

Brodeur and A-Rod wouldn't be top 4 picks. Crosby, Lebron, and Pujols probably would be.

That brings up the question though, for those with knowledge of all 4 sports, who are in your top 10? Assume each sport is weighed equally and the knowledge is spread evenly.

My "off-hand" top 5:

1. Crosby

2. LeBron

3. LT

4. Pujols

5. Carmelo Anthony

We'd probably have more NBA players and NHL players in the top 50 than MLB or NFL. Unless you found a good way to equalize lineups.

fantasyref.com, when it was a current site, toyed with this idea and may have even had a trial run with something like this. I don't think it worked well as you say so they stuck with what worked. What worked was 4 FF leagues one for each sport and then combining total points at the end of the calendar year

Can't think of the name, it was pretty popular

our league with three sports, we went with whatever rules would make this league more skillful.

draft order went like this

Marion

S.Alexander

Garnet

Pujols

Arenas

LBJ

Dirk

Kobe

P.Manning
LOL at team name "You Can't Spell Bouillabaisse Without BOOYAH" I think it would get frustrating if you were doing well in one league, say football, and then someone makes a massive trade improving their football team at the expense of dumping their basketball team. Does this happen?

Since this is a dynasty league, how do the rookie drafts work? All separate?

:thumbup:How do you handle intersport trades, the rookie drafts, and declare champions? It just seems it would be too easy for an owner to throw basketball or hockey, get the #1 pick in that portion each year, and trade it for the other sports.

We keep starting rosters in each sport. Draft position is determined from cumulative position in uber. We pay out for individual sports, so we've had some dumping in each league, but overall its worked out well as anyone who has dumped doesn't havea real shot at the overall title.Oh.....Winning
