Hernandez sprained MCL (1 Viewer)

Pats TE Hernandez targeting a Week 5 return According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, Aaron Hernandez "believes" he'll only miss two games with his sprained MCL.
This is good to hear.
Tell ESPN so I can add him to my IR roster. THis is a buncha :bs: and robbing me of a roster spot.
he isn't on IR. hopefully he never will be.
I was talking about my ESPN FF league, not the NFL IR. ESPN rosters have an IR spot that's not for the whole season. So if you have a guy that's hurt for a few weeks you can stash the guy there until he's active. But if a coach lists a guy anything other than "out", then it won't let you keep the player in that slot. So you have a player that's out, but is being labeled as something else because the coach likes to play around with the injury report, it can hurt your bench if you want to add a player. I tried adding a player but it wouldn't let me because Hernandez was reclassified as qouestionable even though he wasn't questionable. I'd forgotten how BB likes to jerk the injury report around.

That being said, if you (or other posters) say "Finley is a stud," "bump Finley," "Finley is the greatest TE ever," "Finley is going to have some monster games," etc for TWO SOLID YEARS, eventually you're going to be right. What's the saying, "Even a broken watch is right twice a day?"
You do realize that he was on pace for 1200 yards last year before he got hurt right? And then didn't play the next 11 games? So one of those "SOLID YEARS" he put up two 100 yard games in 4. The playoff game before that he put up 160 yards. And then the previous season, he put up 4 games straight of at least 70 yards in weeks 13-16, and in week 17 he scored in the meaningless game before resting the rest of the game. So basically, you're totally wrong. Unless you want to hold games against him that he didn't play in, and even then, he still had done plenty for people to realize exactly how much of a monster he is, and it will only show this year, as we started seeing this past week.
1-He was on pace for 1200 yards? Really, you want to extrapolate 4 games? Okay, Cam Newton is "on pace" for 5400 yards. Calvin Johnson is "on pace" for 32 TDs, Mike Wallace is on pace for 2000+ receiving yards, Brady is on pace for 59 passing TDs.2-I'm not completely wrong, you just seem to have a reading comprehension problem. I've never denied that Finley has great talent, in fact I've posted that exact same point (I think) 3 times in this very thread. What you missed was my point; which is that in the past few years Finley has been insanely hyped, and hasn't even come close to living up to that hype. Obviously last week was a monster game, but he has never shown the ability to be consistently great, and one game doesn't change that.

You claimed Finley had done nothing for people to believe "Finley is going to have some monster games." Since you had a hard time understanding that putting up 3 100+ yard games in his previous 5 games before this year started, including the 2nd most all time by a TE in the playoffs, it became apparent that you had issues comprehending what constituted a good game. Therefore, people have to put things in different perspectives so that it may help you understand. Hence you extrapolate it to a full season for you to maybe understand that Finley had done plenty for people to believe "Finley is going to have some monster games," as a 1200 yard season by a TE is pretty darn good. Your second point is you just backtracking, as if you believe Finley has "great talent," and understand he is in a passing offense with a great QB, and that he has put up some very good games when he has played in the game, it shouldn't be hard to understand why people think "Finley is going to have some monster games." Such as last week.

was this :hijacked: i came here for AHerndizzlemynizzle info. im dissapointed that he isnt representing latino month I keep seeing them pimping on ESPN...

Back to Hernandez, folks.

Any NE homers hear anything further about Hernandez's progress? Are we to safely assume he is a no-go for this coming weekend's action? Last I heard (4-5 days ago), he said he was "feeling great"... hoping maybe there is a chance he could make it back this week. I picked up Fred Davis as a replacement for this last week, and needless to say, that didn't go so well.

God, you two...get a room.

I don't think it's safe to assume anything when it comes to BB and injury info.

(upside down question mark) Listos para futbol?

Hernandez does not appear to be practicing today. But I saw this.

News: Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez, who was inactive Week 3 with a sprained MCL, told reporters Wednesday he is doing his best to get back as soon as possible. "I'm feeling good, man," Hernandez said. "I just take it day by day and work with the trainers and try to get back as soon as possible." Sadly, Hernandez doesn't have Fantasy Football owners at the top of his mind when thinking about a potential return date. "I haven't heard much about the Fantasy Football," he said. "Not really worried about Fantasy Football, just trying to get back and get healthy and trying to make it back for this week."

Analysis: The rumored prognosis for Hernandez would that he would miss 1-2 weeks after getting hurt in Week 2, so he could return Sunday against the Raiders. It wouldn't surprise us, however, if the Patriots list him as a game-time decision. Hernandez has gotten off to a great start in 2011 and would be a viable Fantasy option if he returns Week 4, so continue to track his progress.

I just peed a little.

Yeah, check out rotoworld, he wants to comeback this week, let's see if he does. I'm guessing that if he is active, he's playing. Stay tuned.

They're probably motivating him to get back soon, maybe too soon. A combination of 85's suckfest, and the fact that their D is a wet tissue so they need to score as much as possible.

I feel as though I just bought low on Hernandez. His owner was convinced that Gronk was the TE to own in NE, and I can't blame him, but in a league where we have a RB/WR/TE flex position, I think he is valuable.

If there might be a time to buy low on him, it probably would be now with Gronk's position solidified and Hernandez injured.

Even if he does play this week, I'm worried he'll just be used as a decoy to avoid aggravating the injury. I'm gonna sit tight and keep him on my bench one more week.

I was able to get him straight up for Thomas Jones last week from the Charles owner.

I swear I read 5-6 weeks somewhere...I'll check it out though, don't get spooked yet.

searching...

Looks like back on Sept 20th Comcast NE reported 4-6 weeks but not much news after that. He was injured week 2, missed 3, will miss 4, week 5...that would be 3 full weeks.

I hope he makes it back soon.

If this were anyone but MOP, this would be schtick.

Do you think he will be ready to roll this week or next? I'm saying if he doesn't play until week 5, next week that would be 3 full weeks, and if some were saying 1-2 which is the thread title, he already is past that point so maybe 4-6 was a more accurate description.

Curran from Comcast, the same guy that said Brady would miss all of 09 with an infection to his knee is saying 5-6 weeks.Boston Globe is saying 1-2.

So if he takes the field this Sunday it would be a full 2 weeks, 1 game that he missed. If he doesn't play this week we are looking at a week 5 game, 3 full weeks from the injury and missing 2 games. Am I wrong? I'm just commenting that it sure was more than a 1-2 week injury, maybe it was meant 1-2 games. I will not be shocked if he missed 2 more games and this becomes a month. Just my opinion.

Is week 5 looking less likely now? Wouldnt you expect him to be doing at least some limited work by now?

From Rotoworld.Aaron Hernandez (knee) has been ruled out for Week 4."Hernandez stated early in the week that he expected to play against the Raiders, but he never got cleared for practice. He'll now target a Week 5 return."

My guess is he will be limited in practice all week and be listed as questionable on the injury report. He'll also end up being a game time decision. The problem being that they could be messing with the Jets' minds and he could easily be out or all the way back and we won't know it.
