Unless Alex Green also goes down

linky

just to the practice squad - but I assume that is till he shows he is still in football shape.

Packers are down to Kuhn and Green

Fresh legs?
Can someone say Starks of 2010?He is a good RB to have (nothing great) and knows the system, the only reason he wasn't already with the team most likely was due to salary at the start of the Offseason so the Packers move on. Normally when they move on (Favre) they don't really look back. The way things move who knows might see him week 16/17 and hopefully he takes off in the playoffs.

Just to the practice squad? Did you read the article you wrote?First off, I don't think he is eligible...2nd...McCarthy expects him to be active Sunday.

Coach Mike McCarthy said after practice that Grant "is in very good shape" and that he expects the running back to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions, adding "we’re not looking for him to go out and play the full game."

I overinterpretted this statement
After all, Grant doesn't even have a locker in the main part of the locker room yet. He's in the back with the Packers' practice-squad players.

He's way beyond practice squad eligibility.

This move means nothing to me, other than taking away the small amount of value that Alex Green had for the brief period between Starks injury and this announcement.

Ahh...I see...yeah, just about what locker he could have...though...couldn't Benson give up his locker as he is not really using it right now? I thought that part was odd too. Then again...I may have an agenda about Grant...at least that is what Im told. :)

Personally the guy I would like to see get some touches is DuJuan Harris, he was promoted this week. The guy has great speed and quickness, think a faster, lighter MJD (Harris is about 5'7 200ish), if only he could run like him. Small school kid, was on the Jags and Steelers at one point I think, some really nice college highlights here:

He will not be a lead back, but would love to see him get some touches and maybe some screens, be nice to see an actual RB run with some explosion for a change. I am not an Alex Green fan at all, so I would love to see Grant and Harris get an opportunity obviously more because I am a Packers fan and I think we need a ground game, than from a fantasy standpoint. I heard there may be several inches of snow on the field Sunday night, may be a good time to try an establish a running game.
