There were rumors pre-draft that Pit was going to give a 5th or 6th rounder for him, but getting Sweed certainly gets rid of that need.

yea- I was hoping with the Falcons adopting half of the Jaguars coaches would bite on him since Finneran and Jenkins still appear to be weak threats for 2008

There has been no news of the fate of Matt Jones. As usual, his offseason is quiet. I imagine he'll be given a fair shot to show what he's got during training camp.

He looked good at the end of the season and play-offs...

I had heard the Jags would try and trade Jones during the draft for a mid round pick. After the draft the Jags never said they shopped Jones but did say they tried to get more picks but it didn't work out. That's about all the info. If Jones is around for camp, he'll be in a battle for a roster spot. Porter, Reggie Williams and Northcutt would seem to be locks at this point. Mike Walker, last years 3rd round pick, should have a roster spot barring his knee being more problematic than originally thought. That likely leaves one spot with Troy Williamson, Matt Jones and Broussard being the most likely candidates. If I owned Jones in dynasty I'd hope he is traded soon. Because the Jags could very well pull a Leftwich on him and cut him right before the season starts ruining any short term potential.

Wadsworth has it about right, but I'm not quite as optimistic about Mike Walker as most.
