High Performance League Tiers: RBs (1 Viewer)

These are tiers for leagues with aggressive bonuses for yardage, where the payout for a high-yardage game can be quite significant. I've learned that in these leagues you need to place a greater emphasis on potential and be willing to take on a little more risk to win it all. These are my RB tiers for that kind of league.

My main question with these, other than your thoughts about who goes where, is whether tier 5 should actually be tier 4 and vice versa, and where Shonn Greene fits. These are basically in order.

Pretty good. Not sure that Matthews is "high risk," though, unless all rookies are automatically high risk, which I guess is fair. But I don't think he has nearly the downside of some of the other guys in that tier. Regarding Tier 6, I don't think you can put Foster and Stewart in there under "low reward," as their upside is potentially significant.

I agree w/ the Foster and Stewart comments. Upside is a lot higher than portrayed.I'm not sure where to put Moreno as popped hamstring and high reward does not compute. Particularly when you're talking about the Denver 2010 offense.

What are the minor ?s surrounding Michael Turner, and what makes Rice an elite sure thing when his carries on the GL could be given to someone like McGahee?

Yeah, maybe should move Foster into tier five.

Mathews is safe but is a rookie on a team that was the worst running team in the league last year. And LT has made a pretty good defense of his side that it was the line, not his declining skills, so even though I see his job as guaranteed, I still see some risk there. But he is at the top of that tier.

I can't decide about the risk with Greene and where he should go. His job seems safe but I'm beginning to have my doubts the way LT is seeing time with the first team.

Turner just a question if he's fully healthy and will last all season. But after seeing him in a couple preseason games I don't have many doubts about his health. I guess the ?s really apply more to Gore.As for Rice I think the team considering McGahee tradeable says they have a good bit of confidence in Rice. Also remember these are for high performance yardage leagues, and Rice is the kind of back that could break 100 rushing and receiving in the same game.

Do you guys think I should break the three rookie backs and Charles out of tier 5 and create their own tier in between tiers 3 and 4?

That's really the question for these types of leagues. It's better to go down swinging that to not try for a home run threat. So even though tier 4 is definitely safer and saner, the rookies and Charles are more home run type threats.
