High stakes online FF leagues (1 Viewer)

This year I entered one national online league: NFFC. I've been so impressed by their whole operation that I'm spreading the love.

Their draft rolled out funky with software problems but everything was taken care of by the first day of the season. I get return emails from their CEO Greg Ambrosius within 12 hours. This morning I had a question about my prize winnings and he returned it within 10 minutes. My friend said he gets paid within a month after the season ends - a long wait, to be sure, but after the collapse of a few other high profile leagues I'd rather wait a month than get duped.

I know FBG also has a league. Please enter your thoughts about them and others. Next season is just nine months away :lmao:

Looking to get into one of these next season so these reviews will be much appreciated. Any other sites that do some unbiased reviews?

:lmao:

did one of the FBG leagues. love everything about it but how the playoffs teams were determined, 2 were based off record and 2 were based off total points.

is the NFFC set up this way? i want to do another high stacks league next year but I want it to be all about H2H

Points are a much better way to detemine a team's strength than h2h. I'm glad FBG uses pts. If i lose 3 or 4 close games, but dominated the remaining sked, i could have the most pts in the league but still miss the playoffs with a 7-4 record.Unlike real football, where teams are able to determine there H2H record by playing great D, all you can do in Fantasy is score as many pts as possible. Therefore, the season hi-pt leaders deserve to earn playoff berths. Too much luck involved in H2H W-L records.

Played my first year in WCOFF league. Really enjoyed it but not crazy about the payouts.

There is something to be said for playing for a $300K Grand Prize, however (if you qualify).

RTsports has the best payouts for high stakes, $500 entry, $3000 1st, $1500 2nd, $750 3rd for a 12 team H2H league I believe.

Not a fan of the waiver wire system though, it's prioritized every week by the team with the worst record picking 1st.

I'm doing NFFC Classic this season. I think its a very good system and run very well by Greg Ambrosius. The original post mentioned the email response time as a positive.... I will add you can also pick up the phone during business hours and get a hold of him directly... That was huge when I was picking a high stakes league.

I drafted online and thought the draft room and draft board were great and it went off without a hitch.

I like the scoring system, roster requirements, and bidding process for the classic. Its H2H which really involves a ton of luck as always.... but the top 15% of point scorers in all classic leagues make it to the championship round regardless of record.... so that is a nice safety net for a ton of unlucky match ups. Also, the overall championship is decided by points and you begin with an average point total to start the championship round. It just all makes sense to me.

The negatives for me would probably be the actual website. The way to view players, free agents, etc was not very user friendly in my opinion. I appreciate the way Yahoo has it set up where you can get the recently game logs, injury reports, etc with one click from just about every screen. I also never figured out how to sort by stats, points, etc which was very annoying, but that could just be me and I probably should have asked.

Lastly... Since I couldn't make the live draft, I did an online league... The talk amongst league members was non-existent which was a negative for me. There was a league forum but nobody used it. Oh well. However, I will say the NFFC general forum was very active and there was a ton of talk and information there.

The negatives were small things to me and the more important things I thought were great. As long as payouts go smoothly then I think this is a top notch option. I will probably come back next season as long as I have the funds, and if not I'll just do a cheaper satellite league.

Hope that helps some.

NONE of the regular FF high stakes leagues are strictly H2H.....
