Holliday out indefinitely (1 Viewer)

Matt Holliday is out indefinitely following an appendectomy. And the hits just keep on coming for the Cardinals. Holliday will be evaluated after the surgery before the Cardinals determine how much time he'll miss. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes that it usually takes 4-6 weeks before a player can begin "strenuous activity," but it's not clear if that's the sort of timetable we're looking at with Holliday. Either way, he's almost certainly headed to the disabled list. Jon Jay and Allen Craig will see the bulk of the playing time while Holliday is on the shelf
First thought this was an April Fools

Andres Torres missed about two weeks last September following his appendectomy

Yeah, I was following this on Twitter and the first dozen posts I saw all questioned the authenticity. That sucks. I'm a Cubs fan, but I've always liked Holliday.
