My home is prewired for security with all the sensors, controls, etc. I also have a security panel where my cable and Ethernet are tied into. I want to add some automation features to my home. Currently I have the following
Alarm system
Cat 5e to all rooms
Myq garage door opener (need to buy a hub for it to integrate with network)
Nest
Where I would like to start is with some smart lighting. First I have outdoor lights that I would like on timers. Secondly I have some light switches in very inconvenient locations, I.e. Walking into the house you have to walk 75' or so in pitch black to flip the lights on. Looking at motion or wifi wall switches to reduce the wiring aspect. Ideally I would like all of this to be integrated into the network.
Any ideas on some of the lighting stuff?
