The guy she banged on the stairs (Opie from the liquor store) was supposed to be a Brody lookalike or something?
Exactly what I thoughtThe guy she banged on the stairs (Opie from the liquor store) was supposed to be a Brody lookalike or something?
that was my interpretationThe guy she banged on the stairs (Opie from the liquor store) was supposed to be a Brody lookalike or something?
Yes. It may actually have been the Brody-actor's body double/stunt double/photo double dude. IIRC, he's got a guy that regularly fills in for him on sets that's a pretty close match.Raider Nation said:The guy she banged on the stairs (Opie from the liquor store) was supposed to be a Brody lookalike or something?
Brody Jr or whatever his name is has grown like 2 feet but is still about as smart as a lugnut.
love that this shtick is still goingBrody Jr or whatever his name is has grown like 2 feet but is still about as smart as a lugnut.![]()
Hey, I got a new big screen TV for my room!!!
What's weird is that I had always thought that the appeal of this show was that it didn't have to rely on action/violence/shock or whatever. It always seemed like it could stand alone as a drama. About the only time I was really interested in what happened last night was during Quinn's Jason Bourne moment.I wouldn't have seen myself saying this before the last couple of episodes of the 2nd season, but I want to see more of Quinn.
The whole thing with him and the kid was the most memorable part of this episode, IMO.
I like Quinn. It makes sense that they make him more prominent as they wean themselves off of Brody. He was a nice addition last year. Unfortunately, they just made the mistake of keeping Brody either a half or full season too long (wherever one might stand on that issue).I wouldn't have seen myself saying this before the last couple of episodes of the 2nd season, but I want to see more of Quinn.

My guess is that someone VERY smart and handsome is behind it.
Yep, that was the jumping the shark moment. What most of us now forget, the season 2 episodes until after the Q and A one were just as good as anything from season one. But they went so far off the rails after Q and A, this show will likely never be the same as it was for those magical 1 and a half seasons. And kill Dana already, she is really the worst actor I have seen on a big show.Haven't read the thread yet and haven't seen the premier but, while this show came out like gangbusters and it is tremendously well acted, does anyone else think it jumped the shark early in season 2? When their Osama bin Laden showed up on US soil and kidnapped Claire Daines it felt more like Season 9 of 24 than the best new show on television. And blowing up the CIA headquarters felt like a desperate and childish attempt to create drama. Both of those plot points are virtually impossible to accept even with the most forgiving amount of artistic license.
I'll give season 3 a chance but I think they would have been better served going with a The Wire format where every season had a self contained independent plot with recurring characters instead of a serial drama with cliffhanger season endings. Just my opinion.

Stopped watching that show in season 1, he seemed like a funny fat kid. Not sure if maybe becoming a teenager made him stick out as a bad actor though.Manny, Modern Family.biggamer3 said:And kill Dana already, she is really the worst actor I have seen on a big show.
I'm pretty sure everyone thinks that.Chaka said:does anyone else think it jumped the shark early in season 2?
Thinking the same thing. They didn't mention Nazir's name once. According to the testimony from Saul, they weren't even the one's who planned it. All the doubts I had at the end of the last episode on how Brody's truck was moved so easily right in from of the building, how he just gets into that area at all with all those explosives, how there's no security to be seen, weren't answered in the slightest. Pretty sloppy transition episode if you ask me.Wish they more clear on the 6 targets. Were they tied in with Nazir?
That true everyone?I'm pretty sure everyone thinks that.Chaka said:does anyone else think it jumped the shark early in season 2?
Or that he couldn't hang up the phone with his wife first before killing a guy in the woods. That was the end of the show for me.Stopped watching that show in season 1, he seemed like a funny fat kid. For my money the most unexplainable thing this show has done was have Brody (a top asset to the terrorist) play cab driver to deliver the Gettysburg dude. They have never even attempted to rationalize why the terrorists would risk that.

It was a huge mistake to make it a serial drama with cliffhanger season endings. It would have been much better to have made each season revolve around a specific terrorist plot unrelated to previous seasons (or related in a very limited manner). More like like the way The Wire worked.pretty muchThat true everyone?I'm pretty sure everyone thinks that.does anyone else think it jumped the shark early in season 2?
I think what happened is that in season one it was an original concept that would have been awesome just as one season but then the ratings came in and they decide to go for the money grab. Then the producers had to stretch the story into complete no mans land and we end up with this.

but the premise of the show was based on a show from another country. Agreed. Not sure what show Mario Kart is watching.wow, not sure we are watching the same show. Absolute snoozer of an episode. Dana got more screen time than Carrie and Saul combined. We have already seen her in a boring romance with a troubled teen, why exactly do we need to focus so much time on her? Only way we spend this much time with her and it makes sense for the show is if she follows in dads footsteps and bombs something.
Claire Danes is great but seems like we are retreading past season material with her being in a nuthouse and everyone abandoning her. I actually like Saul, Quinn and the Muslim CIA women, give us more of them.
yes. stopped watching mid season 2That true everyone?I'm pretty sure everyone thinks that.does anyone else think it jumped the shark early in season 2?
Yeah, I think I'm done with it. I figured I'd see if this season would be better, but it's like they're out of ideas already. Basically the exact same storylines with Danes and the daugther as last year. No new material.yes. stopped watching mid season 2That true everyone?I'm pretty sure everyone thinks that.does anyone else think it jumped the shark early in season 2?
He's watching the same show we are except he's kind of a dunce.Agreed. Not sure what show Mario Kart is watching.wow, not sure we are watching the same show. Absolute snoozer of an episode. Interesting: Going after terrorist networks
Not Interesting: Whiny teenage girls and their crazy moms, no matter how nice they may be to look at.
is this schtick or not? I cannot tellGreat show tonight. Moral compasses of each character are turning every which way. The juxtaposition of characters is playing off each other really well. So far, these two episodes, this one especially, have been eye opening.
And, I must say, the top three ladies (Brody's wife, Brody's daughter, and Danes) have been great. Danes' little rant before the hearing felt like I was there. She made it feel real. Dana's rant in the bathroom was eye opening to the whole story. Her yoga lesson at the end though was kind of odd. Hope they go more into her aspiring yoga career. And, finally, the mom getting told by Dana that Brody was the crazy one and not them was a tear jerker. Holy cow, powerful episode by all three.
And, thank the heavens Brody has not been seen yet. Season 2 would have been great without him.
You mean you weren't on the edge of your seat when Carrie's psych hearing was about to go down? I almost couldn't stand it!Also want to add, how about actually having some suspense and tension in this show? I know they lost a crapload of writers in the offseason but two episodes in and nothing suspenseful at all? Season 1 and half of season 2 were edge of your seat psychological thrillers, now we just have a woman in a nuthouse and a teen love story
I hate being that guy but I think I am going to hate watch this show from here on out unless it becomes as bad as Dexter became and I cant even enjoy that!Officer Pete Malloy said:You mean you weren't on the edge of your seat when Carrie's psych hearing was about to go down? Recap, for those who missed it:
- Annoying daughter did whatever she does for half the show.
- Carrie made some weird faces. And said Saul about 50 times
- Mario Kart loved every minute of it.
The stuff with the daughter is insufferable. But everything with the agency and Danes still intrigues me.Dammit, is it me and Mario Kart one one side of this, and everybody else on the other?![]()
