Hoopsguys - FBG ventures into NBA DFS (3 Viewers)

My DK is just a pseudo-random collection of dudes. I'm not even entirely clear on the scoring format there. I've got $8.50 in play spread out over 7 contests including 2 $0.25 things.
Should look at that.  There are little tweaks like bonuses for double-doubles and triple-doubles and other slight variations.  Just like for football, I am sure it makes is so that players are good plays on one site or the other.

Didn't matter -- $8.50 in (all w/ Kawhi), $0.00 out. It was just a spend-down of a little cash I forgot I had over there basically.

Crazy small slate today. Mike has CHA players everywhere at the top. That seems less than optimal to me. Harden may be 100% owned in all formats. I'm not sure you can rationally spend $60k w/o him.

Here's what I've got for cash:

Kemba/Yogi

Freak2/Batum

MKG/Spazz

Ibaka/Booker

Capela

Dont like Dekker at all, but Green is a scratch and I don't have time to revamp.

Maybe the FF Gods have exhausted their anger towards me, I cashed in 2 GPPs with literally the last shot of the night by CJ McColl.  Sitting at 297.9 with .03 seconds left and the cash Line is 298.2 ended up at 299.9.  Still a losing night but not the disaster that has been the last 10 nights, $15 in $12 out.

Sticking to 15% bankroll limit, 50/50 cash/GPP till the tide turns
That's the smart call.

I'm still going semi-big. 1.67 units ($50). FWIW my "standard" 1 unit play is $30 distributed thusly:

6 $2 doubles

9 $1 50/50's

2 $2 triples

1 $1 big tourney

3 $1 100-man leagues

1 $1 small tourney

Tonight I'm adding some more doubles, another 50/50 (if I can get one), and some league play.

Wednesdays work real well for me to enjoy myself watching the games, prepping, etc. It's honestly the day I have the most time to prep, weekends included.

And the current lineup to avoid:

Curry/Lawson

Hardaway/Green

Barnes/Morris

Blake/Morris

Drummond

I have complete confidence in the Lakers' ability to be horrific defensively in the paint.

With help from Rotogrinders, here's my early lineup for a cashlike entry tonight:

Rubio/Schroder

Pope/Crawford

Wiggins/Barnes

Love/Draymond Green

Drummond

Just curious, are the $2 double ups the large entry double ups?  Don't you find that they have higher cash lines than the 100 player 50/50?  I prefer the $2 50/50s.

Also no $3 or $4 dollar GPPs, the larger entry ones?

Typically I go 80-20 GPP to cash with multiple LUs in the $3 or $4 large entry GPPs and then $2 100 player 50/50s

Till I start moving back to the other side of wining will go 50/50 on GPP and cash

This could be trouble, we have quite a few common players in our early cash LU

Curry/TyLaw

Hardaway Jr/Barton

MBarnes/Otto

Blake/WCS

Drumm

I haven't really done a detailed assessment this season. Last season I found the 568-player $2 doubles to run a little higher (3-5 points) than 100-player $2 50/50's. The additional 20% return proved to be worth the heightened risk for my play last season.

I treat my triples as cash play, which is dubious I know. Doing that gives me an 83-84% cash action vs. 16-17% GPP. It probably should be more like 85-15 with triples counting in that 15% to comply with my money management philosophy.

I generally don't play heavier entry fee contests in GPPs just because it would take all of the funds I have allocated for GPPs for 1 entry. I like to spread it around some, especially since I've found some variance in the 100-player $1 leagues, which tends to favor my "bottom end cashing" outcomes.

I'm a grinder at heart -- I can rock the pass line w/ odds and not place a middle-of-the-felt bet in craps all night long. That said, I'm starting to wonder about switching my focus to GPPs a bit more. I've been in a funk the last 1.5 weeks (not counting the 4 days I took off). May need to change something up.

Considering Morris=>JaMychael and Lawson=>Teague.

Every time I watch the Lakers for any length of time I'm blown-away by how horrible they are in all facets of the game. I blamed Kobe for stunting their growth last year, but man I don't know if that was fair. This team doesn't do anything remotely well.

caught a few minutes of the game and they are so bad they made the Pistons look good. Drummond was just abusing them in the paint and even had a steal that went for a coast to coast slam.

$1 gpp

Teague lawson

hardaway barton

George james

love green

olynik

50/50

mcw rubio

derozan beal

melo crowder

stein milsap

koufos
despite Lawson leaving early with a bad hammy I cashed in both gpps. My cash lineup was a dumpster fire and finished 94/100 :X . So $4 in and $4.50 out

A night that could have been a disaster with injuries to Lawson/KFaired/JParker all of whom I had exposure, turned out to be a small loss night

$38 in $32.60 out

Cash LU of

Curry/TYLaw/Hardaway Jr/Barton/MBarnes/Otto/Blake/JGreen/Drumm scored 311.10 and cashed all

GPP LUs of

Teague/Hill/Beal/KCP/Hayward/MBarnes/Porz/WCS/Whiteside scored 310.30

and

Lowry/Teague/Beal/Barton/MMorris/Bogdan/Millsap/Booker/Gobert scored 335.30

Arrow finally pointing in the right direction!

Hmmmmmmmmmm, MVP Slate

Only options at C are Westbrook or Harden

All C and SGs are listed as SG

I'll play along with $10 or so in GPPs

He went for 24 and 17.

In 28 minutes.

That's ridiculous. He could easily have gone 30-20 if not 35-25.

I'm intrigued myself. Which do you pick? I'm leaning towards Freak1 (Westbrook) b/c Cavs can score with impunity and suck something awful at defense. Of course, the same could be said of the Horbobnetcats.

I don't think I like this slate for cash at all. Cavs on a b2b -- who will play and how much? Ditto Boston. Utah-Dallas is probably unplayable. Trying to predict Philly is nearly impossible. Orlando is kind of all over the place too.

Yea, small slate, I'm going 100% GPPs, $15 main and $6 MVP

Blech. This is what I have right now. Still no idea about the Cavs. I'm assuming at least Lebron sits.

Westy/Lillard

Korver/Batum

Harkless/Covington

Saric/Ibaka

Vuc

There are too many things I dislike about this current lineup to list.

Going to wait until I know more about the Clev starters before I set LUs

Like Korver regardless who else starts

Like Harkless

Like Vuc

Not sure what to do with the Char players, leaning towards only Marv Will

Like Hayward

Looking at J Green with AGord out

I wasn't sure Gordon was definitely out. If so, I agree.

I'm not sure I trust any of the big 3 if they play. I can't fathom that they do play given this is the 3rd in 4 on the road. If they don't, that OKC role/bench guys get a lot more attractive in a GPP.

Who from the bench do you target though?

Big 3 all resting for Cavs-i think that puts korver in play and probably frye too. Going stars and scrubs for my $1 gpp-- early look

westy lillard

harden korver

harkless roberson

aminu frye

okafor
