Hoopsguys - FBG ventures into NBA DFS (4 Viewers)

Well I just flushed $10 down the toilet. I'm rolling w/ Wade today. Got busy and forgot to check his status. Thank goodness just 0.3 units on the small slate. 

 
Wow. The Bulls are awful. They burned 4 timeouts in 15 minutes. The Bulls had 19 points in those 15 minutes.

I'm not 100% sure you can't min-cash. Duds are everywhere. I'm holding out some hope myself even w/ Wade and KAT's less than great score. Leuer and Taj in particular were pretty highly-owned duds. Jennings and D. Green were bad too and both were more highly owned than I thought they would have been.

I'm currently way out of the money but I have 5 yet to play. Ownership % and Cousins will dictate whether I watch beyond halftime, but given where I started, even having a pseudo-chance is something. 

 
Even with KCP  making a run late I missed cashing by 15+ each. I did cash in a NHL 50/50 so $5 in $3.60 out for the day. Taking the next two nights off as my 6-8 time is too busy.

 
LOL, my initial lineup this morning was $58k. I used it to hold all my spots for my cash 2. I wanted to use that lineup in a big GPP so I turned Gobert into Hawes on that contest so I could collectively modify the rest of them at 1 time. My intention was to turn Hawes back into Gobert. I forgot. Oh well at least it's going to be a unique lineup -- all $55k of it.

The only way I don't play him is if I stick Koufos in there instead. They may not play out as the best C, but the Lakers are absolutely horrible against really large, physical men who play close to the basket. If Boogie's mind is right he could score 70. If it's not, he could still score 45. André was on his way to 60+ but the blowout stopped him. Lord knows the Lakers weren't going to stop him.

313. 0.9 units in, 2.6 units out. Went to bed at halftime of the late game thinking I was doomed, but Lou's big 2nd half turned it into a winner. 

 
They gonna let Lawson sit into the ASB? May have to roll 2 lineups tonight b/c of big slate and the break. Tomorrow is just 2 games -- no thank you.

Ended up playing a $2 gpp at the last minute-scored 321 and was good for $5. 2 game slate and then ASB so guess we'll get back at it next week.

He was really just a placeholder for me. That 2nd lineup looked more GPP than cash and I had intended to try to clean it up some. HG was too risky for my tastes, but at $4000 he just fit as a placeholder.  I also intended to move off of Frye in that lineup b/c I didn't want to be 100% exposed on him. Oh well, moving off those guys would have likely cost me Teague, who was decent enough, so it probably wouldn't have gotten me enough to cash. 

 
I'm not playing tonight on just a 2-game slate. Going to enjoy a long w/e DFS-free. Should give me time to start looking at my season-long MLB keeper league. 

 
Why would they start a 4 round NBA survivor tonight?  I have a voucher, so it's not a big deal, but it just seems dumb.

 
Damnit. I may have to throw a bunch of entries into that survivor. 50,000 advance. $50,000 total prizes. Currently only 28,600 entries out of 58,000+. 

 
Ended up with 0.7 units ($21). Was going as fast as I could to get as many as I could on my phone. Would have grabbed more if I could have. $1731 of true overlay, which is +3.462% EV.

Didn't see your message until right before lock so only got 1 entry. Was in the car using my phone and it was so slow wasn't sure I'd even get that.

 
Wow. Boogie to NO. I'm all ears about how anyone thinks this plays out from a DFS perspective. From a straight hoops perspective I expect Jrue and Boogie to immediately start working on the pick-and-roll with Brow working on back screens. That might be as close to an unguardable combo as there is in the NBA today.

Against some lesser teams you are going to have to pick the right guy or 2 to go off for DFS, against the better teams all 3 guys will be in play.

Feels like Jrue could be in perma-consideration for GPPs. It'll be interesting to see how they hold-up defensively against smaller teams. They debut against Houston. 

 
And now Houston adds a really nice piece w/ Lou. I think he's going to fit really well there. I'm not sure how great it will be for him in DFS, but Houston is a lot better now than they were IMO. 

 
had a link in my email to play the 5k bus nba tourney. looks like a good deal, $2 entry 2940 players and top 880 spots pays (29.9%) at least $4 and top 100 get ticket to next contest to play a round of golf with the bus. Think it has a 50 entries max which seems high for such a small gpp.

Since this is my first year of playing nba dfs when do I need to start worrying about good teams resting their starters for the playoffs and bad teams tanking for draft position?

Hard to say. I think you will see some teams rest guys now, and start ramping up the intensity closer to the playoffs. Teams like Boston I think will play for seeding. Everyone will be different tho. As far as tanking, teams like Brooklyn and the Lakers literally can't be any worse than they have been. Also, tanking doesn't necessarily hurt DFS performances.

4. GS- they are a 12.5 point fav over LAC, will we get 4 quarters out of their starters?

I don't know about C, but it seems WCS should get lots of play in Sac w/ no boogie or Gay. 

Salaries were set b/4 trades. I think Jokic costs more because he's awesome and more consistent. Jokic is a star IMO. 

Melo looks like he's in a good spot for sure. 

I doubt it, but if they get rolling, 3.5 quarters might be good enough. That team has so many options though that I'm a little gun shy anyway. 

 
FYI, keep your ears on for trade news. Guys who are moved today won't play today. Also guys who are involved in serious talks may be last-second scratches due to injury fears even if they aren't ultimately traded.

Can you start both WCS and Koufos in the same LU
