Horse Pursuit Police Beating Video: Group of Officers Beat Suspect (1 Viewer)

Here's a (somewhat) local one hitting the news now. Amazingly, some feel the police went overboard. I think this is one where belljr's opinion is justified. Listening to that "boy" made me want to throat punch him. ;) http://wtkr.com/2015/04/09/virginia-beach-police-investigating-forceful-viral-video-arrest
With the edit, it's hard to tell how much time is actually passing and what kind of efforts the officer made to get the kid out (why did the kid need to get out for a tail light?) before he went to mace and the taser. It's edited, but it seems like that isn't how that should have played out. As a HS teacher, that kid was not being all that rude.
Because the cop smelled weed. And the kids had weed.

Gotcha, that didnt get mentioned in the video.

It was a video the girl uploaded to FB/youtube and I didn't realize that one was edited (posted that link for the comment section). Here's the full length. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S76v5Pr4qW0

Poor little Brandon (reportedly) got arrested for possession with intent to distribute.

The news didn't even mention the weed part. Although, charges were dropped. I'm not sure why, was it just to try and kill any attention this was getting? It seems like it would look more positive for the police if the kid was being charged with possession with intent to distribute.

My understanding is she had a small amount but the charge was dropped. He had a much larger amount and is still in juvy. Also charged with obstruction and resisting arrest I believe.

Yeah, I misread that.

Yeah, that one looks fine. It was a traffic stop, then the cops smelled marijuana, which gives them cause to search the vehicle. The guy in the back seat needs to get out of the car to let them do the search. He was asked to get out but didn't. After a while, if you don't voluntarily comply with a legally given order, force will be used to make you comply. The pepper spray and tasing seem reasonable to me.

(Also, I don't think the kid was a highschool teacher.)

I give them a pass on some beat downs.

I know it's not a popular opinion and I don't care. My bar/tolerance for a criminal getting a beat down is higher or lower than most ....
The guy was a criminal and deserved to be beaten. Of course, when the cops started beating him, they became criminals who deserved to be beaten. And whoever justly beat them would also deserve to be beaten, and so on, until every single person on earth has had his butt kicked by every other person an infinite number of times.

That's way more exciting than getting judges involved in the process.

He thinks his opinion is support for the rule of law, but it is really support for lawless authoritarianism.
