Hosmer! (1 Viewer)

Holy hysteria for this kid. Matthew's Berries almost dropped with excitement. Apparently he's Joey Votto with a rookie impact like J Hey in 2010.

I'm taking a wait and see. He's long gone in both my leagues anyway. Meanwhile I'm just rolling along with Smoak at my CI spot.

I've been Royals fan my whole life. Went to my 1st game in 1980. I've seen every next great thing from Damon to Gordon. But I feel like, for the 1st time, that a return to greatness is almost here. Hosmer is the 1st of of wave of prospect that will return this once proud franchise to greatness. And I'm telling you KC is a baseball town. They will show up in droves if the product on the field is capable of winning. I remember going to games in the mid 80's that were standing room only. I am so stoked right now!! GO ROYALS!!!!!

Saw this guy play for the Blue Rocks (Royals A ) a few times last year....man amongst boys. Just solid contact every time. Good luck to him.

tuffnutt - glad you hung in there as a fan - I know several who abandoned their team....BUT this is the beginning of a new era of Royals Baseball.....ENJOY

Julio Teheran called up today as well for a spot start against Philadelphia...

Kid is an uber prospect. Wont be worth picking up for your fantasy team as its just spot start, but he is gonna be good.

Lets not put this kid in the hall yet, but by the numbers he should pan out to be a decent AL 1B in the years to come.

If I understand it correctly, I am giving big props to the Royals organization for promoting Hosmer exactly when the crossroad of his readiness and the team need became apparent.

I say that because this opens up super 2 possibility for Hosmer, right? I hope it doesn't bite the Royals in the end.

Its a no doubter at this point. I'm with you though. For a team that has every right to make decisions with the financial impact in their minds, this is impressive. It feels like they are "going for it" this year.

0 for 6 today, ugh.

I want to put him in my lineup, its tuff as he sits behind Pujols, and I have Beltran and Bourn to rotate with him at Utility.

If I need to start the pitching rotation, hes the cut guy, as he has much to pick up in show, IMHO. Too inconsistant to start the "play now" bandwagon.

He is just very average in the fantasy point of things right now.

You have already proven that you don't know as much football as you think you do and now you post this baseball post without ANY reference as to league type/size etc. He is a ROOKIE - and you are in a mixed league and my bet is a shallow one at that so of course you don't need him to compete at UT with more experienced, valuable players. Maybe you should try and trade him (after the ofers fade) to a team that needs a 1B (or CI or UT)

Please, stop with your rhetoric. Its ovbious your a fan since you seem to be on the Hosmer bandwagon. I'm sorry my statement about his average play offended you so much so you want to take a shot at me. I was just making a statement about his play and my situation in a "Bump Finley" type thread... also you pretty much figured out the situation without my detail, so whats the problem?Hosmer is only owned 56% of the leagues on yahoo, for example, so he is a guy a lot of people are not taking a chance on just yet.As far as his value... I'm holding tight, he was on a path to coldness, but recently has had a few good games. Even tho he seems streaky, no reason to cut him just yet. He is my starting utility dude, but when Sandovol gets off the DL, I'm gonna have too many studs and not enough spots, thats a good problem I guess.PS...Trading is always easier said then done.
