The new CBA will have a negative impact on the movement of top players with expiring contracts. Teams with the expiring contract will only receive a draft pick if they make a one year qualifying offer of at least the average of the top 125 MLB contracts (~$12M)
But teams who acquire expiring contracts during the final year are not entitled to any compensation if those players leave as free agents after the season.
No more Type A & B nonsense.
