The kids decided to go in the hot tub last night even though the water was down to 80 and the air temp was about 10.  Bad decision.

I gave an earful to the owner of the franchise this am and it was fixed by the afternoon.

Don't leave us hanging here. What was the explanation for the other repairs that you thought were unnecessary? What did he fix today instead and why wasn't that diagnosed sooner?

The guy who fixed it today was clearly on the fence about the first repair but he said the second was required but that the tech wasn't experienced enough to look at the temperature probes which caused the problem.  I thanked him and told him I'd talk to the owner.

With no experience at all beyond owning a pool I knew enough to try and force a re cal.  That would have shown the probes were probably bad on the first visit.
