*** Houston vs Denver Game Thread *** (1 Viewer)

Have people forgotten last week when Morency had 11 carries, 95 yards, and 2 TD's while running with the first-team offense? This week was Kubiak's chance to see what Lundy could do when running with the first-team offense.People dropping Morency based on this game are over-reacting.
lundy started that game too :bye:
Got the start, but I thought I remembered Morency coming in the second quarter when the first-stringers were still in there.Maybe I've just a had a bit too much :banned: though.

UPDATE

Lundy 4.4 yard average against 1st team

Morency 3 yard average against 2nd team

Until Morency faces the first team this is all moot. They can't be compared this way. Running was a lot harder in the first half.

he did, he also blocked better in that game. But when the lundy gets playing time in the first after antowain, starts in the second, and starts in the third. and morency gets very limited time with the first team, it just doesn't sound like morency is going to be the starter, ya know. maybe it's because they have game film on morency to evaluate, but it sure looks like lundy is the man.

The NFL.com game stats has Morency for 9/27 rush and 2/18 rec. And the play by play on NFL.com has:

May have been the first string offense, but they were playing against the second string defense by then.

Morency whiffs on a block, almost gets Rosenfels killed...

Sterling Sharpe warns that if he does it again, Morency will be "frying fish on Monday."

I haven't watched any of the Denver's preseason games this year. Is this typical Shanny....or is he deviating from his normal back rotation? He is alternating series with T.Bell & M.Bell as previously noted. I was expecting M.Bell to play the first quarter...maybe part of the 2nd and then to give way to T.Bell and finally going to Cobb/Dayne.

The 2nd scenario I thought I might see would be to M.Bell to play 1st & 2nd downs & T.Bell getting the 3rd down work for the 1st half.

Does anyone take the alternating series as a sign that Shanny is considering plugging T.Bell into the starting role instead of a change of pace role?

so did we see much of scheffler?I have been offered Scheffler or McMichael for my 2008#1 rookie pick, this 2006 is my year...

Nope

Nick Luchey? Former Packers FB? No carries, 5 catches for 40 yards. What the heck? Didn't he have some big games, with the Bengals maybe, a few years back?

EDIT: Ha, I checked his player page. One game, 2002, 12 carries, 59 yards, 2 TD's. I remember that game now.

N. Luchey 5-40

I'm glad Nick finally appears to be over Jessica so he can concentrate on football. I heard it was a tough breakup for him.

So how is Cobbs looking (not seeing the game - just watching Gamecenter on Sportsline)? Stat line looks good: 7/54 1TD Long run of 26 yards plus a catch for 12 yds. Was the defense that weak or did he hit the holes well and show some burst?

Denver had the smashmouth mentality tonight . . . he only got two passes thrown his way (Alexander, the other TE, got only one look) . . . They ran alot in the first half . . . still, he started the game for the 2nd straight week (today he started in a 2TE set with Alexander) . . .

Hou

week 1 Phi

week 2@Ind

week 3Was

week 4Mia

week 5 bye

The RBBC should be answered after the bye week that is a tough 4 games stretch even though will be home for 3 out of 4. I hoped who ever drafted one of these two guessed right :D

Its RBBC in Houston...quit wasting your time with all of this "who's the starter talk."
Its clear to most of us that the coaching staff seems to be favouring Lundy right now
Can you specifically state and provide good evidence that the coaching staff favors Lundy? I can't.
Are you serious? Exhibit A:Lundy received 1st team reps in the 1st preseason game against the Chiefs in the 2nd quarter(Morency didn't pick up a single carry):3-7-KC41 (5:33) W.Lundy right tackle to KC 16 for 25 yards (S.Knight, G.Wesley). 1-10-KC16 (4:49) D.Carr right end ran ob at KC 7 for 9 yards (G.Wesley). 2-1-KC7 (4:15) W.Lundy right guard to KC 3 for 4 yards (K.Bell). 1-3-KC3 (3:36) W.Lundy up the middle for 3 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Sammy Knight, Greg Wesley, and Kendrell Bell are all 1st teamers on the KC defense.Exhibit B: Lundy started the 2nd preseason game against the Rams and ran with/against the 1st teamers for the first quarter and a half (Morency entered the game mid 2nd quarter after Linehan pulled the majority of the defensive starters).Exhibit C:Lundy started the 3rd preseason game against the Broncos and didn't relinquish his position until the 3rd quarter (after the Broncos 1st teamers had called it a night).Bottom line: Lundy has started two preseason games. Morency has started none. Lundy has ran with/against the 1st teamers in all three football games. Morency has yet to run with/against the 1st teamers. Lundy was drafted by Kubiak. Morency is a holdover from the Capers regime. Dismiss Kubiaks words for a moment, what do his actions tell you?
