This week's match-up between the Colts and Patriots is shaping up as a mismatch of epic proportions. The Colts are in full blown "Suck for Luck" mode (or at least have done little or nothing to try to improve during the season. The Patriots are battling for a #1 seed and, well, Coach Belichick hasn't exactly been known for taking his foot off the gas pedal when his guys are winning. When you combine that with the history between the teams in recent years it's totally possible that this game will make the Saints 62-7 pounding of Indy seem restrained.

What do you guys think? Will Belichick try to break the record score of 73-0 this week?

45-7; & that will be the score in the late 3rd, early 4th and BB will just start running it. I think he will show respect to the Colts.

Problem is, as we saw with the Saints, if the run game (NO had 236 on the ground) just keeps pushing them down the field it doesn't really matter. The Colts also threw in a freebie pick-6 INT for no reason at all.

The Saints could have easily had 66-0 if not for a couple bad calls also.

I think the Pats will win easily, but I don't think they'll run it up. I think we'll see a lot of the Lawfirm.

I know that goes against what we've seen from New England in recent history, but I just have that feeling.

Lots of BJGE/Ridley/whomever in this one. I actually doubt Brady throws it more than 25 times. Owners of the Pats' passing game gotta hope he's super efficient in this game

I could see Belicheck/Brady run it up thinking in their own minds, 'look at us destroy Peyton Manning'. Unfortunately I will be going against Welker and Gronk.

Three TDs is an insane line in the NFL. The Colts have only lost three games that badly this year. They might lose by more than that but the odds are way less than 50%.

The 2008 Lions only lost 5 games by 21 points all year. The Colts will match that and I think this week is more likely than not one of those weeks.

Did somebody say my name?Ontopic: terribly bad, because why not.

Considering sitting Welker for the third time in four weeks.
Dumb every week.
:goodposting: Welker should start every week.
Maybe for your roster. I sat him against the Jets and it won me my game. Was out of town and forgot to switch Bowe in for him against the Chiefs and got lucky, winning by one point. That would have been a stress-free game if I had done what I intended. Played him Sunday. This week my fear is another decoy kind of game-plan, keeping the hits on him to a minimum. He's taken a beating for much of the season and it makes sense to go easy on him when possible. I could be wrong, but my gut has been right every time with Welker.

Even the lowly Colts can score 14 against this Patriots D.

Run it up . . . people are still silly enough to use that phrase when discussing a professional sport?

I expect starting QB Dan Orlovsky and the new Indy DC to make a game of it.

Then each team will get their 2nd drive of the game and the pats go on to win by 30+

Matt Light ALWAYS struggles against Freeny... rookie on the other side up against Mathis... The Colts do not want to go winless contrary to popular belief.

The Pats are gonna win... but Indy will play hard enough on defense to keep the Pats from covering. Bet your house, kids, and dog.

I'll bet my house, kids and dog on NE covering that spread easy.

So far 26 say the Colts will cover, 75 say the Patriots will cover.-QG
That's all I need to know to bet the Colts.Sportsbooks don't create the lines so that it will be easy to win money by following conventional wisdom as seen on an internet message board.
So they create lines to go against them then?
They create lines to take advantage of what they see as inefficiencies in the betting market. If they can give themselves a 60% chance of Indy covering, with 75% of the betting action on the Patriots side, they'll do that in a second.

I know how lines are created, I just find it odd that someone is going to bet the Colts because 75% of the people voting in this poll expect the Pats to cover.

I live Outside of Boston. I am also a Pats season ticket holder, have been since 1997. That said.. im not a homer. There is nothing obvious about this Pats team beating ANYONE by 21. Let alone an opposing defense that knows TB12 VERY well, and a NE defense who i wouldnt trust to stop a nosebleed right now.

You haven't been watching them the last few weeks then. Their Defense is much improved, and they've been beating teams much better than the Colts by more than that. And now they are going with Dan Orlovsky, my hometown hero, as their fearless leader, I suspect the Pats will cover that line in the first quarter. So unless the Colts outplay the Pats the rest of the game, 21 points wont nearly be enough points to give.
