how do you guys handle allotted draft minute mismanagement (1 Viewer)

Every year we have at least 2 people who go over the 5 minute allotted time to draft there pick...and we all sit around giving them crap but to no avail...they just cant seem to make a pick in time...so my question is how would you rectify this minor yet aggravating situation?

If they go over the limit, they dont' get skipped, but u will have 2 teams on the clock at same time, either can pick when ready.

No need to punish any other way imo

i was thinking of suggesting they pay 1 dollar for every minute they go over...the money goes into the pot we have set aside for the winning teams T-shirt at the end of the year

That's peanuts. Not going to change anything.Warn them, and give them 10 seconds when their time is up or lose their turn.

so when they lose there turn they get that pick back at the end of the draft ...hmmm

The standard in the high stakes FF contest should work just fine for your league - when the person running the drafts says TIME, the next team is on the clock (and the only one allowed to make a pick - the team that just missed can't blurt it out)....when they pick, it goes back to the team that was skipped - they have 30 seconds to make a pick - if they don't it goes to the next team, then repeat...IF they still haven't made a pick (now three chances) the lose that pick until their next turn at which time they can make both.PS - FIVE????? minutes.....that is one of your problems right there - cut it down to at least three if not two (unless you like spending all day drafting)

This is EXACTLY what my league does and it works well. We only have a 1 minute time frame for our pick. We do a live draft and gather at the commish's house. It still takes about 3 hours to complete in a 12 team format. I can't imagine 5 minutes to pick. Crazy!

We do 2 minutes for the first few rounds (3 perhaps, or 5? Maybe only the 1st...) and then halve it. I believe after the 10th or so we cut it to 30 seconds. We've never had any issues.

Although if we did, I would suggest that the next team is on the clock at the same time when it's their turn. Although we have a real draft board with stickers, so if the guy is finding a player's name we cut him some slack. (Alphabetical pages of like 12 names each...and they get out of order pretty quickly)

that's what we do, they also have to buy a round for everyone in the league. cost them a pick and about 70 bucks, still happens almost every year, same penalty for picking a player that was already chosen
