I always spread the jelly on first. Easier to rinse jelly off your knife quickly as opposed to pb. Those who spread the pb first often end up with pb in the jelly jar due to a poor rinse job.
Bought peanut butter today for the first time in awhile. I had been on an almond butter binge, but was craving good ol' PB. What's up with every brand being EXTRA EXTRA crunchy or SUPER crunchy? Don't they just make a moderately crunchy peanut butter anymore? Everything has to be overkill. Too many peanuts makes it feel like you aren't even eating peanut butter anymore.

In lieu of jelly, I also lean more towards honey these days.
I'm no health nut, but it's healthier. It's so much more convenient (unless you go with the squeeze bottle jelly), and doesn't have the overpowering sweetness of the corn syrup with a little fruit juice and pectin mixed in that most jelly has become.
Flavor is perfect with PB and, with some banana, is even better.
Voted "PB on one slice, Jelly on the other, push them together". However, I use three slices of bread as follows: 1. PB the top and bottom slice 2. Jelly one side of the middle slice and place it (jelly-side down) on the bottom slice 3. Jelly the remaining side of the middle slice 4. Place top slice (PB-side down) on top
I didn't have any bread one night, so I just put a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter in a small dish, top with jam, and eat with a spoon. Satisfied my sweet tooth.
