How does Week 16 look for teams sitting starters? (1 Viewer)

Are there any teams that may sit starters next week because they have their spot wrapped up? As far as I know NE is the only one correct? Although I don't see them sitting anyone.

On the AFC side SD is still fighting for the #3 spot in the AFC so I'd expect them to go full bore against Denver, Pitt is still battling for that same spot, Jax is right in the mix as well. How about Indy?

On the NFC side, everything seems up in the air at this point with battles for nearly all the spots, correct?

There's nothing worse than getting to the big dance and having your starters sit on the sideline.....

I would expect all teams to be playing starters in week 16 including NE. Week 17 is what you should worry about if you have games during that week.

Rotowire---- Dec 16 Manning was 22-of-39 for 276 yards passing with a touchdown and interception in Sunday's win over Oakland.

Recommendation: The Indy offense uncharacteristically struggled most of the game, especially in the red zone. With Indianapolis clinching the AFC South and No. 2 seed in the playoffs and unable to improve to the top seed, there's very little reason for the Colts to play their starters a full game the next two weeks. Expect Peyton Manning to play perhaps two quarters each of the next two games as a result.

Indy is all wrapped up....#2 seed and bye....hard to see them playing all 4 quarters....

Indy is the only team Im worried about. Those idiots look for any reason to sit their players. :excited:
yep, they are the one team it looks like next week.

I don't have anyone on my roster that plays for Indy so I'm golden, but my opponent in the Super Bowl (week 16) has Peyton Manning. I'm lovin this news. Thanks for the info!

You would think Dungy would have learned from this 2 years ago about sitting his players a couple weeks before the playoffs.

I've heard him quoted that he would do it the same way if the opportunity presented itself. This week I'd probably see the starters getting some time, next week they may not play at all (IMO).

Wow as an Addai owner it wouldnt surprise me to see an all out RBBC. Now I gotta decide if I should bench Addai for Gore.

This is championship week. I dont want to see "some" time. I want to see ALL the time.

I'm going against Manning and Clark so I'm hoping for only a half for them. Of course that could still be enough for him to drop 4TDs on me.

I have Wayne and Gonzo - wonder how much they will play.
Probably as much as Manning/Addai/Clark. Not being a wise guy but I'd suspect they'd all play the same amount.

Actually Id take Addai out of that mix. With the other 4 you have to assume they will play the whole game until they are taken out (which means they can put up a ton of points until then). With Addai it could be full RBBC until hes taken out.

How is the health of the other WRs for Indy? A couple of weeks ago, they did not have enough healthy receivers to run a 4 WR set during a game. This may keep atleast Gonzalez playing through out the game and Wayne in longer than we might expect.

same here, unless I read something from dungy this week that changes my mind. I do have some other options at least if I get a bad feeling.

pretty poor I think. I read in another thread that they had 3 wr's and 3 te's active yesterday and Utecht got hurt.

And starting whom in his place?

"Colts coach Tony Dungy confirmed Monday that he won't rest his starters in Week 16 against the Texans.

An undefeated Colts team in 2005 sat starters in Weeks 16 and 17 and came out flat against Pittsburgh in the playoffs. "A month is a long time," Dungy said, referring to the time before Indianapolis would play its next game with a first-round bye already in hand. The Colts' victory over Oakland Sunday assured them of the No. 2 seed in the AFC."
