How many Moss owners have handcuffed Stallworth to him? (1 Viewer)

Stallworth might be worth a spot start with the way this offense is scoring. I have started Moss and Watson all season and I wouldn't be sweating Nick Folk tonight had I started Stallworth last week. However, the reason I acquired Stallworth was as a backup against the unthinkable...Moss injury.

Moss owners that haven't done this should seriously consider it.

I have Moss/Donte in one of my league. At the point in the draft that I took Donte I was thinking WR3 ish but has to this point been bye week filler/inj insurance. Remember back in mid Aug Moss was missing most/all of camp so the risk/reward for Donte looked good at the time to me should Moss not suit up some weeks.

I have to laugh looking back now at the rumor and suggestions that Randy would be cut when final roster cuts came down.

Are Moss and Stalloworth the next Holt-Bruce or Ocho-Housh combo? Donte appears to be healthy and Moss is still Moss. What is the going rate right now for Stallworth?

I looked to buy him a few weeks ago when owners were disgruntled with him. The price is probably much steeper now, but I got him a couple redrafts for my TE2.

I agree with the above post that Stallworth could become huge near the end of the season when the Pats are resting guys up. I look for Randy to get on of those "sore foot" type of injuries near the end.

I am a believer in hancuffing WRs if the price is not too high. For example, Bruce was had in many drafts as a low cost handcuff to Holt, especially in keeper and dynasty leagues. Henry may still be a low cost handcuff to the Cincy WRs. Stallworth seems as good a handcuff as any. For those who already have him as a handcuff to Moss, I would certainly keep him!

Is handcuffing WRs an effective strategy? First of all, do WRs generate enough FPs to warrant a roster spot? Second, I wouldn't an injury to someone like Moss would benefit guys who are already more involved in the O (e.g., Welker). Of course, the way brady is looking, I'm not sure it woudl matter.

Really? I'd rather have Stallworth myself because of his similarity to Moss' game with the deep speed. I think you could start any of the three pretty confidently. But in the case of a Moss injury, I'd think Stallworth would be the main beneficiary. Welker might be better in the case of Moss staying healthy, but that's not really a handcuff then.

You make a good point about roster space. This is why I only handcuff only 1 WR, and only when the primary WR is a stud. There are only a few teams where you would do this. For teams like Cincy, NE and STL (in previous years), and probably GB you can reasonably expect the 3WR to perform well if the primary WR goes down. Obviously this doesn't work for all NFL teams. However, I would rather have such a handcuff than to keep some other WR on my roster who is unlikley to crack my starting lineup. Also, last but not least, this strategy works more effectively when you have 3 strong WRs to start with. When you have 3 strong WRs, you can get away with carrying less WRs on your roster than your leaguemates, thereby freeing up the space to have the 1 handcuff.
