How many of yall have TOLIET BOWL playoffs? (1 Viewer)

Got the idea last year from the HyperActive leagues im in, but this is a great idea for dynasty leagues.

Keeps everyone involved the whole year. Not to mention in some league weaker playoff teams may rather be in the Toilet Bowl bracket than the Championship bracket.

The free pick is between the end of the 1st and before the 2nd round. (1.13)

Plus with it all being non playoff teams you are gonna have some weak teams in this bracket, so we also have handicap points that carry with each team.

#1 seed (worst team) gets +15fp (and 1st round bye)

#2 seed gets +12fp (and 1st round bye)

#3 seed gets +9fp

#4 seed gets +6fp

#5 seed gets +3fp

#6 seed get 0fp

So many of my owners are so juiced up about this bracket as everyone wants that free 1st rounder.

Its a nice idea for dynasty owners IMO.

My league has one every year and it is a redraft. Good for those teams who were very close to making it to the playoffs. Also provides a lot of incentive not to give up on your team and stop caring.

Ya both leagues im in have one. They both give the winner of the Stupor Bowl the 1st round pick. It keeps guys from tanking the season or something to look forward too when the rest of the league is still fighting.

The extra draft pick sounds like too much to give to me, but yeah we do have a toilet bowl playoffs (wk15-17) involving the 6 teams that didn't make the playoffs. Winner gets 1st draft pick next year.

We have a toilet bowl playoff (weeks 15-17) involving the 6 teams that didn't make the playoffs with the winner getting $50.

I created a "bottom feeder bowl" last season for the 8/12 teams that don't make the big money playoffs (redraft league).

It's worked out GREAT and it keeps everybody interested throughout the whole season. Not to mention it keeps people from colluding, etc.

My league charges $.50 per add/drop and $1.00 flat for trades. 75% of this transaction money goes towards the bottom feeder bowl, and 25% goes towards the league champion. We are sitting at about $210 in transactions for the year. I figure it will go up to $225 or so. I broke down the %ages based on $200 total transactions to ensure the bottom feeders didn't make more than the top 4 main playoff teams. This was one of the best changes to our league next to using a decimal system!

Toliet, isn't that a city in Illinois?

We have a playoff bracket for teams 6-12 and the first two teams eliminated from the main bracket; the winner of the Toilet Bowl basically wins his entry fees back.

Our dynasty league toilet bowl "champ" gets the #1 college pick in each of the 5 rounds(basically guys that haven't been drafted yet-rookies are available in the auction) and $50($150 buy-in)...good deal...

I'm also surprised you give the winner of the Loser Bowl a cash prize. I'd be pissed if the pot was going to an inferior team. Our league gives away the first pick to the winner and that's it. Seems to keep the teams interested for the most part.

The pot doesn't necessarily go to an inferior team. This season the #4 and #5 teams in total points didn't make the playoffs (12-team league), and when you throw in the losers of the first-round playoffs, there will likely be four pretty good teams in the loser's bracket. I'd be pissed if I were the best team and lost in the first round of the playoffs due to luck; this gives good teams another chance. But it depends on your league; this is a pretty friendly league, so "everyone gets some" is a reasonable approach.

Our league assesses Toilet Bowl qualifiers a modest additional fee, which is used exclusively for the winner. As far as the concept in general goes, these little side tourneys are great for extending what we like doing for another couple of weeks. Why quit after Week 13 when you can invent ways to keep competing and having fun with your friends?

We have six make the playoffs and the other six play off for the 1-6 draft positions next year. This year it is the "ADP Bowl", since his contract runs out (2 year contracts) and he will almost certainly be the #1 pick. Plus our teams are all still eligible for weekly high points cash and the competition for the year-long points championship continues through week 16. In week 17 we are allowed to activate every member of our roster and go for another prize. Keeps everybody working the waiver wire all the way through.

Our bottom 6 teams who do not make playoffs, compete for the #1 pick (12 team redraft). Toilet bowl winner get's #1 pick, 2nd place in TP Bowl gets 2nd pick ect... Keeps all teams involved and prevents crappy teams from losing to get a better draft pick.

We've had a toilet bowl for about six years w/a great trophy that's a toilet seat plaque.

Winner gets to protect a member of their team until his pick in the 1st round of next year's draft.

(Doesn't help much if you get an early pick, but hey, it's the toilet bowl.)

The extra draft pick sounds like too much to give to me, but yeah we do have a toilet bowl playoffs (wk15-17) involving the 6 teams that didn't make the playoffs. Winner gets 1st draft pick next year.
You think giving a team an extra rookie pick at the end of the 1st is too much, but your leagues gives them the 1.01?

I presume he means that the last place team gets the first pick in the draft, same as in the NFL.

The winner of the toilet bowl gets to rename the loser anything he wants, and the loser then has to keep that name the entire next year. I'll tell you what, those two guys in the toilet bowl are playing their arses off!

We started it about 4 years ago. The teams that don't make the playoffs fight it out for the 1st pick in next year's draft. The winner of the Lottery as we call it gets the 1st pick, runner up gets 2nd and we have consolation games for the teams that lose in week 14 to determine the 3rd and 4th picks. If you go 2-0 you get the 1st pick, if you go 0-2 you get the 4th pick. The remaining picks are in reverse order of finish in the playoffs with the league champ drafting last. FWIW.

We saw issues with the bottom team's tanking to get to be the worst or 2nd worst team in the league...

So... ours goes like this now:

14 week season. Top 6 teams are in the playoffs for the championship (top 2 have byes week 15)

Week 15: #11 team vs #12 team -> Loser bowl championship. Loser is the "winner". What they get is shame upon shame...

Teams #7 to #10 in the rankings play in the 1st round pick consolation bracket. Week 15 is #7 vs #10 and #8 vs #9. Which gives:

Week 16: 1st round pick consolation prize game.

The championship playoffs are going along at the same time, so that leaves:

Week 17: Championship game.

It has worked very well the past 5 years for us. Each team is assured to play one extra game each year, thus extending the fun. The #11 and #12 teams continue to try and improve and win each week so they might move up to the #10 slot to get into the consolation bracket for the top pick next year. (re-draft league) Each post-season week has a "big" game in it and it builds up the hype for the championship game.

.....Yes.Maybe I'm not understanding. "Extra rookie pick" means that teams gets an EXTRA 1st round draft pick, correct? That is huge. The team that wins our toilet bowl drafts first next year (so yes, the 1.01 pick). Pretty standard. Same as NFL. They don't get an "extra" draft pick, they simply pick first in a 10-team 18-round serpentine draft.

We do the "NON-PLAYOFFS" .

The six teams that don't make the playoffs are randomly matched for head-to-head games in Week 14. Win the game get $10.

In Week 15 we add the teams that were eliminated from the playoffs and again schedule random head-to-head games. Winners of those games gets $10

In Week 16 only 2 teams have not been eliminated and they play the Super Bowl. All of the other teams play $10 games.

In Week 17 we do a Pro Bowl.

This way there is always something for every team to play for, even the teams that lose in the playoffs.
