Since it was asserted in another thread that most leagues give 6 points, I thought I'd start a poll...

6 pts for all TDs

+3 for TDs > 30 yds

+5 for TDs > 50 yds

+5 for > 300 yds passing

Always gone with 6 points per TD. Seems far too inconsistent to short change the QB for a passing TD. We use negative points for turnovers; so the interceptions and fumbles inherent in the position tend to offset the TDs so QBs do not outscore the other positions, which seems to be the argument for less points per TD.

No bonuses for TD distance. They receive points for cumulative yardage so a bonus would just be double counting. I prefer not to have "pinball" type scoring.

I converted over to 4pts/passing TD 2 years ago in a league I commish. I have really liked the change...and so have my owners. We do 4pts/pass 6/every other TD. Then fractional yardage...

We use 4 points, but we also only give 4 for a rushing TD. Its always been that way before me, but it does help bring up the value of our QB's in the draft, as well as the value of our IDP's where tackles are worth 1 point. (.5 PPR also)

Wise up guys, if passing TD's are worth six points there would be no advantage to letting the guppies draft their QB's in the first round.

We give 3 pts per passing TD, and 7 of the top 10 scorers in our league were still QBs.
I suspect this is due to your collective scoring rules rather than just the points per TD. Only Manning cracked the top 10 in my 6 pt/TD league. Brees just missed at #11. Scoring still dominated by backs.

3 pt TD pass

2 pt bonus for TD passes 50+ yds

1 pt/50 yd passing

6 pt Ru/Rec TDs

2 pt bonus for Ru/Rec TDs of 50+ yds

1 pt/25 yd rush/rec

Code:
TOP 10	TOP 20	TOP 30QB.	5	9	15RB.	3	5	7REC	0	0	0PK.	0	4	6DEF	2	2	2
This year we MAY have the votes to switch to standard scoring (4 pt TD pass, 1 pt/20 yd passing, 1 pt/ 10 yd Ru/Rec)

6 pts for TD

+3 for 9-39 yards

+6 for 40+ yards

Double for QB rushing/receiving

RBs

same scoring, but double for receiving/throwing

-3 INTs

Those leagues that give 6....do you have minus points for ints?

My league goes with 4 points but not minus points for ints.

Base TD pass:

1-9 yds = 6

Length of TD pass:

10-29 yds = +3

30-39 yds = +6

40+ yds = +9

Yardage Totals:

200-249 = 3

250-299 = 4

300-349 = 5

350-399 = 8

400-449 = 10

450-499 = 12

500+ = 15

No deductions for interceptions or fumbles (for any player.) No negative points at all. We are also not PPR.

Has anyone asked why FBG's rankings use the 4pt system when twice as many leagues use the 6pt system? It's not a big deal but it doesn't make sense.

Twice as many? Last time I checked 69x2 != 108Now if you said only 66% as many leagues use 4 pt TDs as those that use 6pt TDs, then I'd be with you. But bottom line is a large percentage still use 4Pt TDs, and it's the de facto standard for many of the "expert leagues out there afaik...

4 points in both my leagues. In one, int's and lost fumbles are -2 and their were still 5 qb's in the top 10 in scoring last season. In the other, qb's get 1 point per 50 yards passing, rb's & wr's are 1 per 20 yards rush/rec. Both leagues are IDP.

ok, maybe not twice as many but a significant number anyway. On this poll, 54% say 6pts, 35% say 4pts. Law of average says that out of 100 FF-ballers you ask on this site, 54 of them will say 6pts, while 35 will say 4pts and the rest for the other choices .. what's that like 1.5X as many? (35X1.5=52)anyway, point is that 6pts is the majority choice of leaguers while FF-sites consistently use a 4pt system for ranking players. it's like trying to communicate to all people in Spanish when the majority of people speak English.
