Once you get west of Lawrence/Manhattan, there ain't much there.
@El Floppo
Is this a NYC joke, or are you talking about Manhattan, KS being west of Lawrence?
Flop is a Manhattanite

the one in NYC

New Yorkers are known to be New York-centric and there's a joke (?) about there being nothing interesting outside of Manhattan
Yeah. Everywhere else sucks. Hahaha.

Right?

My stepmother and I actually had a trip planned to North and South Dakota (and Montana, to get that one off her list) in the fall of whatever the first COVID year was. Was that 2020? She and I both would have completed all 50 at that point. I wouldn't mind going to the Dakotas to some of the national parks there.
Seems like ND is a common #50 for people based on geography and attractions. I remember hearing about this shtick thing ND started as a result, called the "Best for Last Club"

I went to Fargo on a business trip or it wouldn't have gotten checked off.
Same, went twice in the past year. And headed to Grand Forks (a couple hours north of Fargo) tomorrow. :)

I'm a weekend road trip away from having been to all 50. Thanks to work sending me to Alaska last year as well as a cross country road trip along the top (ND-MT). So all I've got left are the three northeasternmosts. Then I get my free sandwich.

47 for me, missing AK, HI, and VT. I have taken several long, cross country road trips back when I was younger and now I travel for work
