The Titans continue to say they'll be patient with rookie QB Vince Young, but team owner Bud Adams is looking at his calendar. He would like the former Texas star to be his starter on December 10--when the Titans play the Texans in Houston, where Adams lives.
who's mclain ? is that adams or reese or someone else ?IF it's true McLain wanted Young over Fishers objections then Vince will be starting by mid-season,ready or not and Fisher will be gone at the end of the season. If Fisher really did want Young then he'll bring him along slower and I'd expect him to start next season. I'm going with Fisher being gone.
Adams,my bad,was reading something and writing at the same time AND chewing gum.who's mclain ? is that adams or reese or someone else ?IF it's true McLain wanted Young over Fishers objections then Vince will be starting by mid-season,ready or not and Fisher will be gone at the end of the season. Are you saying Dungy will retire or get fired? I don't think there is a chance Indy would fire Dungy even with a bad season (which they won't have). I do think there is a chance, especially if they win the superbowl, Dungy could retire after the season but I wouldn't bet on that happening either.IF it's true McLain wanted Young over Fishers objections then Vince will be starting by mid-season,ready or not and Fisher will be gone at the end of the season. Bet you he lands in IND too and replaces Dungy after the season.
Id be surprised if he holds out more than a week. The numbers you posted arent out of line given hes a QB and the #3 pick.I hear Young wants a 50 million dollar contract with almost half of it guaranteed. so it might be mid season before they actually get him signed which in my opinion would keep him from sniffing the grass in Tennessee untill next year.

I don't expect Tenn to be near the doormat that may seem to think they are. I think they will be in the playoff hunt until roughly week 15 or 16 and thus White will start avery late. He will get playing time much earlier in the year than that and Fisher has already alluded to this being the case. Who knows, maybe he pulls a Ben and earns the PT and start by week 5.It sounds like the concensus choice is that he will be a regular starter some time this year. Maybe the better question would be at what point is he a quality starting quarterback?
Actually going from the above, what you heard is speculation by beat writer Terry McCormick for the Nashville City Paper.I hear Young wants a 50 million dollar contract with almost half of it guaranteed. so it might be mid season before they actually get him signed which in my opinion would keep him from sniffing the grass in Tennessee untill next year.
From the same article, this is what Young's actual agent is saying;Want Young? Titans need about $50M

The structuring of the deal and the amount of the signing bonus are yet to be determined, but a package somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 million, with approximately 40 to 50 percent of that amount guaranteed, is probably what it will take to bring the No. 3 overall pick under contract.

Young’s agent, Major Adams, says the $49.5 million contract Alex Smith landed as the No. 1 overall pick in San Francisco in 2005 will be part of the equation. "We’ll take into consideration what the first quarterback got last year, and what the first two picks get this year. It’ll be a little bit different since they’re not quarterbacks," Adams said.
Young has said he wants to be in training camp by the time it opens July 28, and his Adams echoed that sentiment Monday.
“I don’t anticipate any problems in getting a deal done. They’ve treated us great the whole time, because Vince was the guy they wanted all along,” Adams said.
I believe Dungy will retire after this season to be a full-time father for a few years before getting back into coaching. I'm sure that his son's death had a profound impact on him, and he doesn't place football #1 on his priority chart to begin with.I expect the Colts to position themselves for another run, but they'll need a new coach to take them to the next level, and Fisher is one of the best in the league. Are you saying Dungy will retire or get fired?
