How much coffee do you drink? (1 Viewer)

Lot of zeroes or black drinkers. I like cream.*

i love half & half. Really don't like milk, powdered creamer - it's literally flammable - or any other substitute.

When I first moved to NYC, I noticed a lot of people at my local bodega ordering "coffee regular." Looked like they were getting cream so I made the mistake of ordering coffee regular. Unbeknownst to me, in NYC vernacular that means 2 sugars & a glop of milk. Almost did a spittake.

WTH decided that's coffee regular??!!

I think coffee's #1 job is to be a cream holder.  2nd place is the caffeine delivery system.

1 to 3 cups per day...an occasional afternoon cup if the previous morning was < 3. Just this year cut out sugar added. Usually 1 of the daily cups includes cream or even whipped cream.

Too much - a pot / day. My wife will have a cup, maybe two. The rest is me.

No sugar or anything and my annual physical just came back showing that I'm amazing, so don't plan on slowing down.

Coffee is for suckers .. take care of yourself, and you won't need caffeine. Ever.

Hot Lemon water first thing in the morning  is all you really need. I'm talking a whole squeezed lemon in a 8-10oz glass of hot water.

Haven't had a cup of coffee in 5yrs. Don't miss it.

Years ago, I discovered that Sweet N Low combined with Equal did a better job of emulating sugar than either sweetener alone. I used that combo in my coffee for a long while until I tried Sweet N Low + Splenda, which is also good and less expensive.

...

My coffee routine: two 12-oz cups before 9 a.m. Regular ol' Joe DiMaggio Mr. Coffee drip coffee. Probably 9 parts coffee and one part half-&-half or evaporated milk. Whole milk is acceptable in a pinch, but I need to tilt the proportions to about 3 parts coffee to 1 part milk.

Maybe once every two weeks or so, I'll have a third cup in the morning. Sometimes, I'll go on a iced coffee kick and have some of that in the late afternoon every day for a week or so. Haven't done that a lot lately.

Unlike a lot of people: I use the drip coffee pot as a decanter. I turn off the burner shortly after the pot is brewed to prevent the coffee from 'scorching'. IMHO, the coffee stays drinkable in that pot -- no refrigeration or transferring to a Thermos -- for about a day. Through the following morning, for sure. I can drink this fine without reheating ... but if I have enough left in the coffee pot, I'll pour it into a saucepan and reheat it on the stove. If I drank coffee black, I couldn't get away with drinking old coffee ... but I lighten/sweeten it enough to beat back any off flavors. To me, the day-old coffee that I personally make is about 90% as good as the fresh-brewed that I make. Without reheating, it's less good but still fine by me.

I drink at least one 10 cup pot of :coffee: a day.. Nothing added.

I work from home starting at 5:30am and tend to drink the first pot before anyone else in the house gets up. I make a 2nd pot for them and sometimes have one more cup from that.

As some stated above, I don't "need it", I just enjoy drinking it.
When I go on my Canada vacation twice a year, I might have 1 or two cups a day, but some days none.
Do you get headaches on those days? I used to drink a lot of coffee, a whole lot, and I'd have headaches if I didn't drink any at all.

ETA to answer the OP's question: Usually one 12 or 14 oz cup in the morning, occasionally another like at mid-afternoon.

12 oz. at roughly 4:30 a.m. prior to my run.

20 oz. upon return home (after 15 minute cool down) - with at least a half pack 'boro Reds.

12 more oz. around noon.

/fin.

rarely drink it after one in the afternoon - but can't do first part of my day without it. not gonna happen.

use only Kalita or Chemex - any other brew methods are tantamount to bilge water production.

evolve. thanks. learn. enjoy.

love me some East African - really diggin' an unwashed Ethiopian Ardi gr. II right now that blows my palette away.

always black.  always as hot as i can stand it.  never cream, milk, sugar, carcinogens, etc.

No headaches, no "Withdrawal" at all..
If I could find a decaf that I actually enjoyed drinking I'd do so... I've tried 8 to 10 different decaf and the taste is just not there for me

ETA.. One thing I did find is I have to stop all caffeine intake by at least Noon, if not earlier, or sleep is out of reach. Tend to drink Coffee until 10am or so, then 1 Sprite, and then the rest of day I drink water.

one to two 12-16 oz cups during the week with the occasional 3rd cup if up to late.

2-3 8-12 ozers on the weekends.

Occasional starbucks frappaccino randomly depending on whats going on that day

Short Answer? TOO Much.  But gave up soda so this is my caffeine intake.

1 cup exactly.  I just read an article saying people who have 1 cup a day tend to live longer.  They're not sure why but there it is.  So i started having one cup before my morning beer.

I don't, but there aren't many days I don't have it. Usually if I am on vacation somewhere and don't have a coffee maker in the room. Never understood the knock against coffee. No calories. No cholestoral. No fat. Pretty much a freebie from a health standpoint.

I'm also a non-drinker. I'll take a sip every so often (especially with a donut) but I don't like the taste otherwise. I enjoy the smell though.

i've never said this literally before - why don't you go shove it up your ###?
I'm out of squirrel sammich buns. Your mom used the last one when she made me a toasted ham and cheese, with tomato, right before she left. It was good. She put fresh-ground black pepper on it. And, I think, a drizzle of olive oil.

Edit: yeah, I knew the post. Was just trying to tie it all together. I'd never eat a squirrel. Me sainted mum used to think they were the devil. She had pretty bad dementia, at the time.

did she butter your PopTart?

ETA: Here's a healthy solution!

ETA: one of us has had too much coffee. can't say which end, but this hijack probly should
Good point wikked...

...I would guess both...and yours was the mouth end...

...while mine was the other end.

And this shall conclude my portion of the hi-jack...

...coffee can induce such things.  :loco:

One mug with breakfast around 6:30AM

Then, a grande house blend from Starbucks around 10:00AM, which I sip on through the rest of the day.

Usually one cup, maybe 2 on the weekend.   I use a keurig at home

Our office coffee sucks though or I'd probably drink more. Old job had one of those fancy $2000 machines that ground fresh beans and left that nice nice frothy top.   I'd probably drink 3-4 cups because it was good and a good excuse to go BS for a bit

1-2 cups a day max. I brew my own in the AM. One cup to drink with my wife, the second cup goes in the Yeti and I sip it through 11am at the office.

Several, almost exclusively espressos. One in the morning, one after any meal at home, typically one in later evening, and any other time I'm just hanging around at home or stressed.

So, I'll drink anywhere from 2 to about 8 per day with an average of 4-5. That said, if I'm not around it, I can go days without it and it's not a problem. It also doesn't keep me awake at night although I can use it to help me stay awake (sounds strange).

I rarely drink regular coffee as most of the time it just isn't very good. If I do, it's black, no sugar, just like my espresso.
