How much do you move Palmer up? (1 Viewer)

After Carson Palmer going out tonight and not missing a beat after his injury, how much do you move him up in your rankings and projections? Top 4 QB?

I got him as the 6th QB on Sunday....and I was debating taking him as early as I did.

Now its looking like a genius move.

Jaime

He was taken at 2.03 in my 12 teamer a few days ago, 2nd QB off the board...and NOT BY ME, DAMMIT. I thought "reach" at the time but apparently not so.

One of those plays with some risk and that risk is going to exist all season, but returns on the kid were so good I think the rewards outweigh those risks. Getting a half a season of similar production as last season could put you well on your way. I took him in 5th Round and bumped my backup QB pick up a round for insurance.

Palmer remains my #1 QB for the dynasty league that I play in. #2 in re-drafts. I thought he could come back from this longer term. His performance tonight strengthens my confidence in my rankings.

Man, I was holding my breath on every hit...

He'll be drafted at the bottom of the second or top of the third once the season starts. People who didn't get Manning, don't want Gates, and are left with the bottom of the top receivers and the questionable running backs, will look at him as the next best option. Some people may even take him ahead of the top tier.

Meanwhile, Manning's value dips a little, since his VBD# isn't quite as high with a second stud out there. Expect fewer good owners to take Manning in the first when there's another quality option that will likely be available in the second round.

Overall, this favors the guys with the top three picks even more, because it pushes the top tier of players even further down so they can get three true studs.

7.06 in a draft yesterday......I was in shock when I looked down at my list and he wasn't crossed off....I asked the guy next to me, did I completely black out or is he still available....when he said yes it was easy:)

 The difference in a really good roster and a killer roster always seems to be that one pick that makes the draft slide right into your lap.

Wow, are you playing with a bunch of monkeys??? That's insane. Good job getting Palmer in the 7th round!

He'll challenge Manning for the top spot again this season ... this kid's a proven winner !
Until the Steelers take out his knee again in week 3. :bye: (just kidding) ;)
At which point Ben Roethlisberger will accidentally break a windshield with his face. :bye: (just kidding)

Who else other than FBG's had him outside of the top 5?

It definitely drops Manning down. I have Palmer as my #2 QB with a bullet.

Like Ricky Bobby, I can only count to number one. Get him a lot later than over-drafted Peyton Manning, and get equal production.

Palmer is sticking as my #3 right where he was, McNabb is still #2 because he was actually the top scoring QB before he went down. Brady at #2 is a joke to me still, I've got him down around #10 as I have for the past 3 years. But it is based on scoring in each league.

I did the same. My draft was this past Sunday and I was able to get him in my 12 team league in the 5th Round after Manning, Hasselbeck, and Brady were taken. I just couldn't pass him up at that point. Ended up taking Vick in the 8th round as my backup to cover myself at the position. Carson is Top 2 with Manning this season. I just had a gut feeling he would return to form this year since all the news on his rehab was so promising during the offseason. He cleared the mental hurdle last night so I think the sky is the limit for him this season.

The same thing happened in my draft tonight! Seems dangerous, but he has looked good. I just worry about the division's defenses.
