How much do you value match-ups? (1 Viewer)

For example, Romo has been solid this year so far but he goes against the tough Chicago defense this week. Then, you look at guys like Jason Campbell and Derrek Anderson who aren't as good as Romo but have a lot better match-ups against the Giants and the Raiders this week.

These particular players are only examples and this isn't meant to be a WDIS thread, but at what point do you say to yourself, "You know what, I can't pass up this golden match-up."?

When the QBs are Jason Campbell and Derek Anderson...both are very erratic so far. Romo has looked solid and you have to think Chicago will clamp down on the run.

I think Dallas will put up 24 on Chicago so I think ROmo will be good for 200-250 and 1-2 TD really.

I like to play matchups when all else is equal, I would not consider starting either of those 2 over Romo. I uses match ups alot for selecting a defense to use.

Matchups are MOST applicable when determining QBs. You can almost cherry pick the games your average to good fantasy QB (Delhomme, Favre types) will have his up games.

That said, I don't sit Romo for the also rans you mentioned above.

Matchups are only part of the equation for me. I also put a lot of faith in my gut and for this week I'm planning on starting Campbell against the Giants over McNabb and Roethlisbeger.

I just think that the Giants are shutting down already and Campbell is actually looking to WRs other than Cooley meaning he isn't instantly checking down to the dump off. Plus, for some reason I expect him to run for a TD this week.

I may chicken out before tomorrow morning, but for now that is my plan.

I usually end up paying the match-up game because I always fall for the "wait for your QB until later in the draft" hype. Then it seems like I get thrashed by the guys that have Peyton, Palmer,etc..

For instance this season my QB'a are DelHomme and Leinart. Neither one is an obvious start every week so I gotta try to play the matchups.

It's a nasty week for me. I have Leinart, Anderson, and Huard as my QB corps (panicked after Frye was cut and scooped up Huard in case Anderson didn't make it through).

I want to stick with Leinart, but I think Anderson is the best of the three matchups.
