Howie Kendricks potential? (1 Viewer)

What can this guy do if he plays 150+ games??

I know he has been hurt but he was a 360 hitter in the minors and was on fire in July last year, then he got hurt again.

Kendrick has put up between 30-39 RBI only playing less than half a year. With second base a weak spot what can howies do playing a whole season?

His hack and slash approach worked better against minor league pitching. His inability to take a walk means he has to hit .320 to have even an average OBP. His major league walk rate is only 3.1%. This is fine from a 5x5 fantasy perspective but doesn't translate to as well in real life value.

The Polanco comp is a lot more appropriate than some of the ridiculous Rod Carew comparisons that were made when Kendrick was coming up. Kendrick is still young and his walk rate was slightly up last year. Even a slight increase in plate discipline would help him a lot.

Last year was the most he's played with the Angels,92 games. Seems he has problems health wise. He's only 26 and if he can stay healthy certainly his nunbers get better. He had 107 hits last year.2nd base should be all his. I'm an Angels fan I even with adding Abreu this year I'm not expecting them to be an offensive powerhouse. Looks like Howie will bat around the 8th spot and that could keep his numbers down somewhat. He;s been doing pretty good in spring training so far.

He really needs to stay in the lineup, get his bat going and move up in the batting order if he's gonna put up good fantasy numbers. I think he's a top 15 2B guy if he plays a full season. Even if he is a top 15 guy he hasn't showed me enough yet to want to rely on him everyday at 2B. Until he can prove to stay healthy there's a lot of other 2B who'll be more dependable even as depth on your team.I might would draft him late as a bench player and see what happens.
