The're pieces of #### but for $99 bucks I'll get one if they become available again.
Just got a second one. Amazon had a lightning deal but it is gone now. The OS may not get any more updates, but with a million new users this week, you can bet more apps will be on the way. Mostly got it to surf the web while in airports and sitting on the couch.

Still stunned at the hysteria on this item. I mean it isn't thaaaaaat great. I think many are going to be pissed when they can't get any roi for the effort after eBay fees.
Perhaps....depends how much inventory HP still has. I think most will be able to get $150+ on E-Bay for them. Many people who got them will actually use them.

They were selling for $225-275 on eBay before the price drop. In the very least I think someone will be able to try it out for a couple weeks and then get their money back.

With the 4g having set to drop in sept they won't just put them in the trash now. Nib will still be around for a month at least. It will take a few soft eBay lots to take the heat off. I do wonder what this does to the other secondary tablets. It might kill the xoom and galaxy too. And what about hp pc content? They gonna blow those out?

People are still bidding these things up on eBay. A 32GB just sold for $290 and people were bidding right up to the last minute. 90% of the public is probably unaware of the huge price drop.

That's my hope. ;)

Nice added benefit with these is you get 50GB free cloud storage at box.net when you download the free app.

This was a pretty clever ploy on HP's part to get their tablets in the hands of consumers. Once they all sell out, they will announce renewed support for the device.

No way developers will sink time into a dead OS, one million new customers is nothing when Apple is adding that every month in iPad sales alone much less new iPhone purchasers.

Cool! Sounds like an opportunity.ETA: Different from what I was posting, but Microsoft agrees with you.

with the new influx of cheapo owners no doubt this will be Android ready in a few weeks time
That's my hope. If so, score. If not, I have a cheap web browser/e-mail/e-reader/etc. tablet that I don't have to treat with kid gloves.

Windows is the worst of the operating systems. I would take a dead WebOS touchpad over a Windows one.

Best Buys in Dallas/Fort Worth sold out.

I'm not motivated to go any further to try and find one at this point.

I think the odds of this getting fulfilled is maybe 1 in 20.
Why? Pretend I don't live on the slickdeals forums
OnSale cut their site on at that price at about 2:15 PST. Sites that have had stock sell out at about a rate of 1000/minute. They have been up for 150 minutes. The entire shipped quantity to anywhere is estimated between 250k-400k. The rest are in HP inventory. They would have sold out the entire shipped qty about 20 times over at this point on the hottest electronics item that didn't come with a piece of fruit printed on it in forever. They probably are taking orders on the hopes that HP lets OnSale fulfill whatever is on the water for them for a small fee.

If BestBuy had in their inventory 200K+? How many were at WalMart? Target? etc.? How many were in the warehouses that the online places distribute from? A week from now how many of these are going to have shipped? Half million? A million? More?
