Huge offer - need advice (1 Viewer)

12 tm PPR - I have a really good team, just missing that top notch RB. My team:

Ryan, Rivers
Miller, Ingram, Gio, Prosise, Hunt
AB, Evans, AJG, Nuk, ARob, Britt
Gronk

Got the following offer:
I give: Miller, ARob, Gronk
I get: M.Gordon, Maclin, Kelce

Now, I do like the upgrade from Miller to Gordon, and Kelce is at least on par with Gronk, if not better just b/c he is safer. But I'm stuck on the ARob-Maclin part of the swap. Main guys on his team:

T.Coleman, M.Gordon, TyMo
T.Hill, Sanders, J.Brown, Marvin Jones,
Kelce, Rudolph, J.Thomas

I countered his deal by adding his 2018 1st and my 2018 2nd to make up the gap from ARob to Maclin ( I don't love ARob but his perceived value is much higher and he's a lot younger) , and he countered with this:

Miller, K.Hunt, ARob, Gronk, 2018 2nd

I get: M.Gordon, Aaron Jones, either Maclin or Marvin Jones, Kelce and 2018 1st

I like Hunt a lot, am I right for letting him get in the way of making this deal??

I'm with you in that I think Robinson is overrated, but he is still far better than Maclin (or Jones, who I like more than Maclin at this point).  I also think Miller is underrated and will have a better year this year with Osweiler no longer holding back that entire offense.  I find it funny how people are dismissing Hopkins' very poor performance last year because of Osweiler, which I do believe is very true and I think Hopkins bounces back, but people aren't giving Miller any benefit of the doubt at all.  Not even a little.  Defenses had zero respect for HOU's passing game last year and as a result they focused on Miller.  I don't think Gordon is much of an upgrade over Miller and the downgrades you are taking at other parts of the trade don't come close to making it a good deal for you, including the draft pick upgrade to help make up for it.  Also, by adding in Hunt and asking for Aaron Jones you are cancelling out part of the value you get from the draft pick upgrade.

I agree with RC94.  Robinson is a decent dynasty WR and not an elite one, but he's much better than Maclin.   I also like Gronk over Kelce, but it's much closer than before.  Gordon doesn't make up the difference.  OP would be getting the short end of the stick.

Pass on the counteroffer as well.

OP has sick WRs.....I would put Hopkins on the block and see what kind of RB you could get for him.

I would expect millers workload to be regulated and he will lose work at the goal line. I would try to pare this down, I think Miller/ar15 should be enough to get you a solid rb1. Or throw in another wr, robinsons stock is way down. You want to throw Miller/ajg out there you can maybe get a top guy. This deal just seems to have too much going on. You want a rb, no need to flip WRs/tes/picks as well unless you really like the guys being offered.

I wouldn't do this trade. The upgrade from Miller to Gordon and 1st to 2nd isn't worth getting owned at the other parts.

How far off is Robinson for Gordon? Haven't looked at start ups lately but seems they would be in the realm of closeness

What are your starting requirements and bench?  I think that should play a role in the decision making when evaluating a trade.

I hate it when people overcomplicate trade offers.  You want a better RB, and you have plenty of WR firepower to get it done.  No need to include TE swaps, pick trades, etc.  It makes it much harder to evaluate the trade, and it just introduces more uncertainty.  If you make a 4 for 4 trade that also involves picks, then there's 10 different things that can happen that make it a good/bad trade in hindsight.

I like the original offer, minus the TEs being included.  Just do Miller/Arob for Gordon/Maclin.  He's trying to downplay how much WR help he needs by throwing in Gronk/Kelce...

Honestly, i don't think Gordon is all that much better than Miller. Pretty much everything went right for Gordon last year, and even then, the difference between him and Miller was TD's, which are kinda fickle(as Gordon 15-16 is evidence of) the dropoff from Robinson to Maclin is massive.

I think you are just fine staying put, and if RB becomes an issue, address it then, with your excellent WR depth.
