I am enjoying this Fantasy Baseball! (1 Viewer)

This is my first year and I can`t believe I never played before. I have played FF for 15 years and I think I am going to enjoy FBB more. I love the everyday action.

What I am discovering is that bad things happen a LOT more than good things though... hence batting averages under well, .500

My first year too, and definately enjoying it - but have to get used to 3 out of 10 being a good showing be it with guys in scoring position or not.

 Welcome to football sunday every day of the week for the next 6 months.pace yourself

The getting sniped for free agents thing eventually causes me to look for razor blades.

FFL has a much better system.

Other than that it's a matter if you have the stamina. But at some point the platooning isn't really required. Especially if you get way up in games by the ASB you can just start your studs the rest of the way in.

Fantasy baseball will drive you nuts. Wednesday my team batted .450 and yesterday they were 3 for 33 (.095) It is a freaking roller coaster the first week of the season.

that kind of attitude will have you burnt out by May 1st. It's not unusual for teams to have drastically different stats from day to day. Don't over manage and start tweaking your roster cause of a couple down days.

No tweaking here. Spent most of my early round picks on hitters and the lineup is pretty well set. Just funny to see how dramatic the swings can be early in the season.

My team has been horrible all week so far as Ive sat in last place. Most of my hitters arent hitting. That being said the only tweak I made so far was trading Delgado for Peralta cuz I just didnt think Drew could be my everyday SS and of course since then Drew hit a HR while Peralta has gone 0-8. So I probably overreacted. Other than that Im not gonna make many moves but losing players due to injury liek Shef & Granderson may force me to do so as my OF is very depleted.

Last year was my first year (and I dominated some of the local "experts" like Capella and Pickles). I totally agree about it being better than fantasy football. It's not even close.

Way to take 5 years to sack up and play.

Am I the only nut who plays in a points league? 12 teams in my league and we do a round-robin each week. So if I have the second highest point total this week I'll go 11-1. We start:

7 Hitters

5 Starters

2 Closers

22 man roster.

3 AAA.

5 DL available.

It's like 2pts run/rbi, 2pts double, 15pts win, 10pts a save sort of stuff.

I'd rather play where we have to start someone at each position because I figure the deaper we have to go the better for me but this style is very easy and enjoyable.

Hitters this week for me were= Ortiz, Morneau, Rollins, Zimmerman, V. Wells, Bay, and Tuluwitski.

Used to be a baseball fan but totally lost interest in the late 90s.

Won the football league so one of the guys invited me to join his Yahoo H2H league. My first baseball team ever.

Looked at the player rankings and realized I didn't know who any of the players were except for the stars. Let the Yahoo autodraft pick my team for me. (Made out OK.)

Had no clue what stuff like WHIP was. I've done my research since.

I've already watched more baseball in the past week than I had in this entire decade. :loco:

I have been getting my ### kicked for two weeks now.

Each game last a week. I am losing right now 62-8.

None of my guys are hitting and I have not had a win out of my staff. Borowski comes in for the 9th the other night and ends up a -13

David Ortiz, Jose Reyes, Maggy Ordonez have not done squat. Verson Wells who I drafted semi-late is hitting.

I have Wainright and Maine going tonight so hopefully I get a win.

What kind of league?
CBSSportsline Fantasy BB League. The games last Monday through Sunday. You put in 4 starting pitchers and two relief.
Head 2 Head? You only have 8 pts on a Thursday?

First Timer here too. Just drafted so starting week three. Just joined a casual Yahoo league (head to head) to get the feet wet. I was surprised that all 12 people were there. When I started playing fantasy football and used Yahoo, there would be 3-5 not present easily. Anyone want to comment oh how it looks and what I need to look for to improve?
