I blew all my bid dollars on B-JAX (1 Viewer)

Feels good - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Can't have turds on my squad. Just as a reference I traded him for Demaryius Thomas in a re-draft league. Let's get this train going - if your going to win your league you can't hang on to dead weight.

As a Grant owner, I felt compelled to pick him up, even though I had no confidence in his abilities. I am so glad that someone else blew their entire blind bid cap on him, and that I got Hillis as a consolation prize.

ETA: to be clear, I had put in my own bid of the entire yearly cap; but the other owner got him on tiebreaker (worse record)

I blew it all on BJax as well, thinking I was an RB2 away from a championship in my redraft home league. After seeing the RBBC mess, I offered him up to an owner that had Vick as his #2 QB behind Brady. Luckily he bit as I rode Vick to victories in weeks 2 and 3, but now it's back to a mess. I believe Vick will be back in there at some point and be effective. But, as a lifelong Falcon fan, I know that Vick will always be close to an injury that causes him to miss time (he still holds the ball FOREVER and takes needless hits a dozen times a game), so I was holding my breath in 2010 - like 2006, 2005, 2004, etc.

I'm dropping him this week. I honestly don't care who I get. I just want him off my roster. I'm not kidding either. I'm going to list about 15 RBs on my blind bids this week just to be rid of this dog. The sad thing is I've thought he was an absolute bum from the second the Packers foolishly drafted him in the second round. But I bought into the belief (hope is more like it) that being the starter on a great offense could overcome his glaring lack of talent. This will be the last time I make that mistake. You know you suck when a converted fullback looks like Barry Sanders compared to you.

Got the Jets D and Pierre Garcon for him (the same week I picked him off waivers)

So while Garcon has been hurt, I expect his value to return.. and well, Jets D is a monster upgrade over what I had.

I'm very happy... was never gonna start him over gore, sjax, best and addai anyways

PREACH ON!!!!

Traded him for Collie before Austin blew up in Denver. Thankful he is off my squad, though using cash on Jackson did cost me a shot at Hillis.

Lessons learned:

#1 Brandon Jackson was/is not able to be a RB1 for any team (I understand the Grant owner's plight more than others, but contributions from a few memory cells would have adjusted the urge)

#2 No matter WHO the player is, all-in FAAB bids are totally unnecessary.....look at all the running backs (or wide receivers for those that spent $900+ on Mark Clayton) who have become playable since then.

Go ahead and purge BJax, but don't forget #2 in the future

Lesson learned is to watch the games before picking players up. I avoided Jackson like the plague. He is not an NFL RB. At best, he is a decent receiving back, but that is it

While that's true and Jackson's ongoing struggles to look like a Division 3 RB prove that point it is worth mentioning that opportunity can be valuable in fantasy football. Reuben Droughns wasn't a special talent by any means but he was a productive fantasy RB a few years ago in Cleveland primarily because he received a healthy number of touches. I think if the people who picked up Jackson were hoping he could replicate Grant's production they were setting the bar way too high because he isn't anywhere near Grant's class in terms of talent. However, I don't think it was asking too much for him to be a lower-end RB2 (in the 20-25 range) despite his lack of talent given the opportunity he was presented with. I think the guy is a worthless bum but that's all I was hoping to receive. Unfortunately, he's so completely and utterly awful he can't even reach that modest level of expectation.I do agree about the mistake made by going All In or investing a significant portion of your spending on one player early in the season. That's definitely a mistake. Not only does it kill you on the WW if it fails (which it has for Jackson owners) but it significantly limits what you can continue to add even if the player pans out because there will always be more than one quality player emerging off the WW during the season.
