I can't believe I drafted... (1 Viewer)

Vick, Deion Branch, and Devery Henderson (late flier), and the Chicago Defense.

Chicago was especially surprising, but in the league where I picked them, it was in the 10th round -- as the 2nd DST -- 3 rounds after someone picked Carolina. It was the first time I'd seen the Bears D as value in any mock or real draft this year.

Have no fear. This guy is going to be great. Think Michael Irvin and take a little off the top. :yes: Back on top, I drafted Brett Favre for the first time. Eighth round of a 14-teamer. His glory days are gone but he'll be considerably better than last year IMO.
 
10-teamer: Kitna and Coles. :( Granted they aren't my go-to guys, but still not exactly thrilled w/em even as backups. That's what I get for going RB-happy.

 
In the early rounds, I ended up with Randy Moss in one league - not sure I'm thrilled about that.

In the late rounds on one team or another I ended up with Kevan Barlow, Mike Alstott (td heavy league) and Chris Brown. I don't particularly like any of them (I really dislike Barlow for what he did after I drank the cool aid two years ago) but they just kept dropping so eventually I had to take them for the potential value. :shrug:

Kurt Warner I know he is gonna screw up soon but with Larry, and Boldin with Edge in the back field taking him to back up trent green in the 10.10 can't be a mistake but I guess I should pick up Lienart in week three because he may start week four. :banned:

had no choice as it was either him, Alstot, or Ladell Betts...on the bright side, my WRs rock

I got LenDale at 10 and was just as shocked.Our first round went:1. Reggie Bush2. Lawrence Maroney3. DeAngelo Williams4. Vernon Davis5. Matt Leinert6. Joseph Addai7. Mike Bell8. Jerious Norwood9. Vince Young10. LenDale White11. Jay Cutler12. Maurice Jones-DrewIn my redrafts, I was suprised to get Tiki at six, but that guy scares me. I also got stuck with Kellen Winslow since the tight end run started in the seventh round right after my pick.
 
Roy Williams-I've never had him before but I told a friend of mine last year I'd never draft him due to the fact he's constantly got some kind of minor injury at all times. I took him in the third round about 10 days ago and true to form he's nursing a groin.

Same here... although i'm a cheezehead but like to avoid players that i have rose colored glasses for.... it's cost me a playoff berth in the past (starting Favre over Vick)... but Plummer was taken w/ the pick before mine... and since it's gonna be his last hurrah, i took Favre over Vick :loco: .... which pissed off the guy picking 12th, so it felt good at the time

Driver still caught 84ish balls last year. Even on GB, he's a good pick in a PPR league. I should know, I took him again. <sigh>
 
As a born and raised Chicago Bears fan living in Packer country, my leaguemates were shocked when I picked him in the 10th round of a 12 teamer. I was shocked myself, but he was a value pick. Brett Favre.

It caused such a shock that the draft stopped for a couple of minutes so everyone could collect themselves to continue.

BTW if the Packers win Sunday I have to shave off half my mustache.

Otter than that, you guys have mentioned half my team (Vick, Clayton, KJones).

FFL makes strange bedfellows.

Favre as my backup receiver in 2 leagues....

Kitna and Rivers as my main 2 QBs in another league.... :bag:

I be drinking the Go Detroit Kool-Aid, along with the.. LT can make a bad QB look good.....

 
I'm starting to think that paying $14 for Cedric Benson was a bad idea. It seemed like a good one at the time. But I couldn't resist all the empty beer cans telling me that he was a Texas legend and it was his time to shine.

 
Dom Davis - pre-really bad injury news

I was able to unload him before the bad news hit on a guy who liked the potential that he'd come back eventually this year and thought he could take the hit.

 
Joe Horn and Isaac Bruce as staring receivers. My team bus is going to have to pick them up at the geriatrics ward before the games.

 
For me it was Manning... we are a 3 team keeper league (players drafted after round 3) and I have Lamont Jordon, Chris Chambers and Gates as keepers... so I'm well rounded to start and have 1.07 in the draft...

I mocked it out before the draft and decided there was only 1 scenario that could play out where I felt I should take Manning... and of course it did...

Shuan and LT went 1, 2 (LJ was a keeper)

Tiki and Jackson went 3, 4 (expected)

That left James, Rudi and Caddie and I felt I was ok with Rudi or Caddie but didn't like James this year... so if James falls I will take him...

Well, Caddie went 5th, Rudi 6th... so with James or Manning there, I took Manning...

This of course forced me to take Mike Bell in the 3rd another player I didn't want to have to take but here I am... hope it works out

 
Culpepper. This marks the 4th year in a row he's been on my team. (Drafted 03, 04...trade early 05)

I was resigned to waiting on QB and going elsewhere, but he dropped wayyyyy

down...

I quickly took 2 others to reinforce him, though.

 
Donte Stallworth.

I wanted Matt Jones and Ben Watson in my Dynasty auction. Watson went for a lot, but I was able to get Vernon Davis. My big mistake was letting Jones go and I nabbed Donte Stallworth.
