I don't agree with FBG on a player (1 Viewer)

Uh, what's the deal with the stealth thread title change? And if the mods are going to change the title behind my back, can they at least make it funny/entertaining (even if I couldn't pull it off myself).
 Nothing was behind your back. Not sure how I could have made it any more clear where I wrote in your original post.J
If you were gonna change the thread....then it should have happened when it was first posted. Seems odd to wait around, see what happens, and only when Evans plays poorly...come in and change. Would there have been a change if Evans had played as Dodds predicted? I seriously doubt it.
I agree with you that I should have changed it earlier. J

The Bills were embarrassing this week. A lot of people expected them to be bad, but not many expected them to be that bad. What's worse for Evans is that Roscoe Parish, Steve Johnson, and David Nelson combined for twice as many targets as Evans. (Evans got 1/3 of the WR targets when he was expected to get over half.)

I'd expect Evans to be ranked a lot lower this week.
I got several "good luck with the Bills offense" emails mocking the fact that I had Spiller and Evans in my lineup this week over Forte, Bradshaw, and others. I bought the Chan Gailey hype and the fact that the Bills running game produced good numbers last year with what I considered inferior talent.Spiller's 2 TDs in that 3rd preseason game was like catching trip Kings on the river only to run into trip Aces.   :wall: :wall:

Come on people. The thread was in poor taste in the first place. Who cares? Just move on. Have you never made a bad call? Move along move along.

How was the thread in poor taste? I'm honestly not understanding that.
You don't have to understand or agree. The owner told you what he thought. Everyone has opinions but it doesn't matter what yours was in this case. :lmao:

You're right, I don't have to understand, but I'd still like to. I'm not questioning the owner's decision - I'm asking you why you think it was in poor taste, as I obviously don't understand how/why it was, and why I might want to avoid such things in the future.

Well some of us have stacked rosters and don't have to worry about guys like Lee Evans. I however had to fill 6 spots in one league and was trying to decide between some real crappy guys.

So, it affected me. When a guy sticks his neck out and picks a guy he thinks will perform even if its a sleeper pick like the Evans one, it seems in real poor taste to then publicly make fun of him.

I mean did anyone really sit a great WR for Evans? More likely he was played instead of guys like the 40ish to 50ish range. It didn't pan out. Oh well. It was the first game of the year and with Gailey and Spiller and the fresh year it seemed like a decent opportunity.

Like Joe said, I'd much rather come here and get some REAL opinions instead of just no risk picks like I could pull off of ESPN. So a guy makes a pick and tries to put his neck out and then you are making fun of him. Seems in poor taste to me. I like you and it was kind of funny with your title and all, but I just thought it was odd to start a thread and let it go for pages making fun of the guy... I do not want to impose my opinions on you, I just had been thinking that so when it was changed today I wasn't surprised at all.

At the beginning of your post, you pretend that prognostications of Lee Evans' week 1 was important, then by the end you call it a no risk pick. Which is it?

Thanks for that. Here's my story. I actually had to decide on Evans myself (as I mentioned earlier, and as it turned out didn't matter because I ran into a squad that had Foster and Nicks), and found this rating out of whack with my perceptions. So I started this thread mainly in the spirit of keerocking (which you took as making fun of Dodds, and was merely intended as good natured ribbing the likes of which he's handled before with aplomb), but also to try and divulge what people saw that might justify the rating. I think Dodds and FBGs do a great job overall (I'm a paid subscriber myself and have been for several years), which makes it noteworthy when I see a projection/rating/whatever that seems pretty off to me. Therefore I figure it'd be worthy of discussion on its own merits without it being taken as an overall indictment of the quality of a given prognosticator's (or an overall web site's) FF acumen in total. I'd like to think there's room for differing opinions and discussions of said opinions regardless of whose initial projection we're talking about. Would it have been less in poor taste if I had been overwhelmingly bland in my presentation? It's not like I was making fun of Dodd's mom or saying he likes wearing dresses or something. I just intimated he had a brain cramp about one guy, not that his entire rankings were teh suck. Now I understand that this board really doesn't have much room on it for that kind of thing, and I'll adjust my posting style accordingly.

Well now I changed my mind. I think you should have inserted this into small print or something.

Edwards sucks...they sjould stuck with Losman...and then went and grabbed a veteran
:thumbup:The truth is that Losman regressed significantly after Edwards was drafted and Edwards was the better QB when Losman was still here. Since Losman left, Edwards himself has regressed significantly. I know no one remembers this, but Edwards was one of the most promising young QBs in the league 2 years ago.
Edwards, at the time was a little bit better, but Edwards was a guy playing near his ceiling. I think Losman needed a longer leash.

Edwards' ceiling looked to be increasing every week. Losman already had 3 1/2 seasons at that point to prove himself. He was given plenty of rope... and he hung himself with it.

I'm curious about the Evans projections not just from here, but everywhere else, as well. ESPN has the guy ranked high again for a PPR league. What am I missing here?
