I don't think I have ever seen (1 Viewer)

It's bad... hard to watch... and I hate the Cowboys.

Lot of football left in the season... players better start playin'

This is beyond bad. There is no question that Wade Phillips has lost this team - wayyyy beyond that -how is it good if this kind of demoralizing effort continues to be repeated. It isn't normally good to replace the head coach in the middle of the season, but nice guy Wade, Garrett and most of the staff has to go. They need to cut some expensive chaff, kick some ### and make sure whoever is there wants to play or they can leave as well.

I started to feel that way watching this GB/Dal game. The feeling went away. For all their arrogance, its nice to see them get a little comeuppance. The franchise will survive, but its good to see them squirm a bit.

I have only seen two players for Dallas doing all they can tonight. Dez is working his butt off (and as I say that he makes a bonehead play), and Jenkins who is doing his absolute best to be outright cut.

Put a fork in them? If Dallas were a steak you could nail them to the bottom of your work boots and get three years of good wear out of them.

They played without either a heart or a clue

This is going to make it difficult to sell seats and boxes. Imagine if this is the taste left i cowboy fan mouths through a lockout. Selling tickets after a dump and then a lockout will be a real challenge.

Not really because most of the premier seats required seat lic agreements so folks were locked in for 5-10 years going into this. They might have a lot of no shows but they won't have problems selling tix, enormous fan base and folks that don't even live in Dallas have season tickets.

Actually in a way it makes it obvious that Romo is not overrated. This team still played with some heart right up until Romo got hurt. I'm laughing looking back at how some thought Romo was a part of the Boys problems.

:thumbup:Let's not romanticize this too much. This team played with what it called "heart" with Romo while there was still any hope at all of climbing back into the playoff race, which was later than in most years given the way that quality is spread more evenly around the NFC and teams like Minnesota faltered early too. That point, a couple of weeks ago after they fell to 1-5, also happens to coincide closely with Romo's injury, however the team was still the underachieving, mistake-prone and often uninspired unit led by Romo that was already significantly into its current slide. Romo is a good technical QB who can play inspired football at times, however he's not much of a leader for his team. The lack of leadership is one of the primary problems they have. All they lost in addition is hope for a season in which they were telling anyone who would listen that they'd be a "home" Super Bowl team.

Maybe so, but the Boys were 1-5 with Romo.

The problems are much deeper than who plays qb for them though, agreed.

No I understand they were pitiful with Romo. But they have fallen to levels that words can't describe since his injury. You might not look at him and see General Patton but he was obviously someone on the team who inspired because they immediately stopped playing once he was gone. Which IMO makes it obvious that Romo was not the problem. Yes his mistakes are usually made in the worst possible moments but he played with heart and IMO commanded respect from his teammates which it seems no one else on this team does. After saying all that I'm not above taking a stud QB in the 1st round if there is no stud OL or S.

Ok, so your point is that the team is worse off having lost its starting QB. I am intrigued by your theories and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Good point on Campo's team. No need for the Boys to look any further. They've got regression from Supe teams, a rebuilding, hiring some "names" to coach. Best thing Jones can do is reanalyze what went wrong and start there.

Anyone think this may be the new normal for the Cowboys as long as Jones has the GM role?
Stephen?
You mean Mini Jerruh?
lol yeah. He's impressive. I know the general public has some trouble swallowing that, but he built a good team and really does so much work for the Boys. I don't think it's fair to look at them on paper and predict great things, then weeks later criticize the GM. He just assembles the army. No doubt there could be bad apples, but all-in-all I don't think this is on him. Their trenches could be better and I can't remember the last time I thought the Boys secondary played well. He's not free from blame. It's just that I can't see him getting the lion's share of the blame here.

JJ just has to look in the mirror.

Suppose he should have known Wade wasn't a great HC...just suppose. Suppose, he wanted Cowher and didn't get him for whatever reason. If he offers Cowher some enormous sum of money now, does he make enough of a difference in his profit to cover that? I mean even with a bad coach that team does real well and it is about the bottomline for JJ.

How do the seat lic work in Dallas? In GB if you give up your seats you get your lic fee back when someone else buys your seat.

The media and Cowboy fans were predicting great things. Many, many football fans knew this team was going down hill when they fired The Tuna. We've been arguing about this for three years!

This is a disaster. This is as hard a lay down, dis-com-bob-ulation as I have ever seen. What a mess.
That's what happens when there is no accountability. When a player misses a block, do you ever see the QB or RB call that player out? No. Do you see coaches making changes due to player mess ups?
