I need help with fantasy picks (1 Viewer)

I drew the 12th pick in a 14 team auto draft league. I need some help figuring out where to go here considering I have the 12th pick, 24th, 36th etc. Granted the top 6 running backs will be gone well ahead of my pull and I am hoping some of the others get silly and draft WR and QB as 1st picks. Who should I go with for say the first 5 picks. Right now I have Steven Jackson ranked as my number 1 followed by McGhee. Hoping they slip past the others in my league. After that it is all up in the air. I'm not gonna get Sean Alexander and Larry Johnson for sure. There are 5 players from my league last year that watched as I had Sean and he tore them up. So, he will go well before my 1st round pick.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

How do you have the 12th pick and not the 17th too?

IMO Forget about McGahee - even if he is available that team is a train wreck. IMO your first pick you should be looking at Westbrook, Edge, S Jackson or Lamont Jordan (Watch out - Portis may drop too).im not saying, Im just saying...

Because its not horse shoed I dont think. I am in an espn league and I think the draft order stays the same in each round. I could be wrong though. It is my first time using ESPN for fantasy and I can only see the first round draft order.

Thanks for the info. I went with McGahee at 2 because I think he will get a lot more touches this year. I put Jackson at one because I am sure he will slip through. I am shy of Portis because of the shoulder injury on Sunday. The league I am in is mostly fans and I am certain Westbrook and Edge will go early. So I am looking for a good 4 or so running backs to load at the top followed by WR and QBs. I dont like auto drafts but my league members are all over the world and we cant do a live draft. So, line ups are hard to figure out for me.

I'd expect Jackson to be gone by then. Edge may be there but probably not either. I doubt Portis will drop that far but if he does definitely grab him. I'd go for Westbrook... Jordan may drop because of the preseason game.

As it is an auto draft all I can do is project. I know Edge will be gone for sure based on the people in the league. I might shoot for Westbrook and then Jackson. I am banking on him because several people in my league have a tendency to draft based on the team they are fans of. That is how I got Sean Alexander last year. :)What about rookies? Is Reggie Bush worth a say 5th or 6th spot on my prerankings? Also what about Carnell Williams. I need QB options as well. So far I have Jake Delhomme as my number 8 prerank. What about Drew Brees as well?

Also of note - with 14 teams, in a non-serpentine, you'd have 12, 26, and 40 (add 14, not 12) with 14 teams.You probably have 12, 17, 40 and 45, etc.
