1997 was the peak for me, too. It's been all downhill since but appearance wise I may not have peaked yet. The remaining good years are dwindling, and I think I should try to cash in on my body before its too late.
2011-13. In great shape, ran my first half marathon. Hit my stride at work, won a prestigious global award that came with incredible perks and a bunch of world travel.
Salary is better now, just need to shed the 45 LBs I gained in the last decade
But I guess one time in middle-school I caught the game winning TD from a guy who later went on to play for the Raiders for a year or two, before washing out and having like 8 kids with multiple moms.
I'm not even a Phish diehard by any means (I know the song Fee lol) but caught that tour twice while I was studying in Denmark (Spring/Summer 97). Good to know that was their peak but I'll take your word for it.
The Prodigy also dropped that year. Amazing album that kind of changed the game. Saw them perform in front of 80k at Roskilde Festival. Great memories. Looking back at the set list I can't believe all the amazing bands I saw in one weekend (Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, Primus, 311, young Daft Punk and that's just the start). Still in awe of this set list even with Wu Tang cancelling last minute. Doubt you could get 10% of this lineup with today's prices:
