I starting _______ over Matt Ryan this week (2 Viewers)

With the Falcons offensive line woes I may start either Orton or Glennen over him and may only play Ryan against the weakest of defense going forward. Ryan now a low end QB 1 or a backup.

Tannehill, no question.

I think I'd still start Ryan over Orton or Glennon, though.
Agreed. I tried getting Tannehill on waivers but didn't. Lions d-line is pretty nasty. I expect Ryan will be getting sacked quite a few times and may fumble in the process.

I'm actually starting Orton (Eli on a bye) over him this week. Jets give up passing TD's and he's been around 280/2 for a few weeks in a row. I need to see the Falcons' line at least start playing at CFL level for a week or so, and this matchup is terrible.

x3

His running is giving him a lot of extra value and he's playing the Jags.

I am also debating Tannehill over Cutler. NE has been good against the pass and teams mostly run the ball against them. Forte could have a career day. But, it could also be a great day for Bennett/Jeffrey, since Revis will likely shadow Marshall. I'm not sure, yet.

X4 for tannehill. Happily got him off waivers

I chose Palmer over Tannehill. But it was close. Palmer is chucking the rock and will continue to do so vs. the Eagles. And in the last 3 games -- while Tannehill is playing great, the Jags D has been pretty tough on QBs.

I could be swayed back towards RT though.

Follow Up: Did any of you actually cut Ryan? Or just bench. I'm thinking of doing so since his bye is next week anyways.

Going with Flacco. If I didn't have Flacco and RGIII was cleared to play, I might take a shot with him over Ryan. I can't trust Ryan right now. I don't think I'd go with Orton or Glennon over him though.

Holding Ryan for now, but not playing him this week. I think the Falcons figure some things out over the bye.

Are we overreacting to Ryan's quiet couple of games? Is it like impossible for Atlanta to turn it around offensively? Football Guys "downgrade" of Ryan has me running scared.

He's got no time to throw. They just lost their starting C on an O-line that is ranked in the bottom third per Pro Football Focus.

Is there some reason to think the trend will change?

Palmer over Ryan for me.

If you saw last week's incompetence by the OL, you would not think it is overreacting. Now they play the #1 defense away from home.

Trust me, I'm afraid. Very afraid. It's just that so many times during the year we think a guy is done and then he comes back. It's a what have you done for me, week to week, game. But yeah, I'm thinking if the O-Line is bad, he won't be able to be productive. I was just posing the question.

If he plays great thats wonderful. He can do it on my bench

Traded for Wilson after the Dallas game. After the Harvin trade I started Ryan like an idiot. I starting Wilson not for this week but the rest of the year. That Oline was bad then got banged up then banged up some more.

In another league, I also have Cutler and Tannehill. I am rolling with Cutler, think he turns it around and Bennett has a good day. Keep in mind the Pats lost Chandler Jones for a bit.

Romo over Ryan
Same here.

It's amazing how things change; I was almost considering dropping Romo due to his very slow start and injury concerns. Coupled with Ryan's hot start, Romo seemed like dead weight.

I pulled the plug on Ryan last week and rolled with Romo.

Flacco but holding steady for now with Ryan. I can't give up on a guy with weapons on the outside like he does.

starting Tannehill in one dynasty and Carr in another over Ryan.long term, i still expect Ryan to be a top 10 QB over the next 8 years, but they are a mess right now.

Same thing for me happened, except I did drop Romo after Week 2 due to his low scores and Ryan's high scores. Luckily I was able to pick Romo up last week and plan on riding him through at least Atlanta's bye week if not more. Hopefully ATL can figure things out for the last half of the season because they have more home games.

Hoyer. Not excited about it either.
Screw it. I'm going down with the (SS Matt Ryan) ship. Too many times I've tried that move of starting an inferior QB and the better QB made me pay with a big performance against a tough defense.

I don't think it's going to end well but it's better to go down with the ship than start the backup and look like a fool when the #1 QB goes off.

Normally I would agree with you. But not when he's going against that dline. It's really hard to see anything good coming from starting him

Traded Ryan last week. That OL isn't working with a few 3rd string guys, including an UFA rookie C. He'll have some good ones still, but I didn't want to try and guess which weeks.

Good move

I started Palmer over Ryan but I am happy to see Ryan start this game well. Although slightly annoyed as a Julio Jones owner in two leagues.
