I want to start golfing (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any input on putters? Been playing with a old Odyssey White Hot Rossa but think it's time for a new one. Old one is oversized at 35", also not a huge mallet fan and I'm looking for more a 33" blade type. Been to the golf stores around the last few days trying out the putters in the $100-150 range. Have it narrowed down to the Odyssey Versa #1, Ping Karsten Anser #2 and Nike MC01w. Like a lil bit about each but still trying to settle on a putter.
I needed a new putter, so I went and demo'ed everything they had. My current putter is a blade so I was curious as to how I hit other putters. After swinging all of the different types, I found myself consistently hitting mallets the best.

I ended up going with the TaylorMade Daddy Long Legs (38"). It's a bit pricey, but I absolutely fell in love with it. Playing Sunday, so anxious to see how I do with it.

Have you swung a mallet at all?
I've always played a mallet. I've used the same Ray Cook mallet for years.

I'm sure it rolls it better than it looks, but that Daddy Long Legs is uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugly. ;)
I dunno....I dig how it looks  That was obviously secondary to how it felt and swung though.
38 inch seems almost belly putter length, I'm a small guy so couldn't imagine being able to control it. Looking at 33-34 inch putters but more 34 as the 33 is a bit short.
I believe they have a 34" version. I'm 6'6 so I opted for the longer club. It fits me perfectly.

Has anyone honestly ever been a natural at golf right away?

Meaning at least starting out ok instead of atrocious like everyonr else. Some people have to be naturals.

a couple more trips to the range this weekend. i have stretches where i drive everything straight and 100+ for like 5 shots in a row. then i go back to hitting grounders, huge slices 100 yds to the right, etc. fairly certain i hit a couple ~250 today. one was straight down the middle, one trailed 25 yds to the right. felt damn good though. as soon as I pickup my irons next weekend i'm gonna sign up for lessons.
