Thanks for the feedback. When I state "balancing each side of the ball" this means I want things to remain somewhat equal on both sides of the ball whether it be points, or in this particular case negative points issued to boith sides of the ball. My argument is that if a player on the offense can be penalized for an incomplete pass, or fumble, so too should LB's?DE's/DB's be penalized for missed tackles etc. Yes we can just elimiate the negatives and tweak the points to even things out as we did last year, but we feel that though it's important to reward all the players for the positives they do, they should also be penalized for ####### up. In IDP leagues, this can only be done on the defensive side of the ball which is not balanced.
I agree that what I am requesting would be painfully exhausting to attempt to track, and part of it may be due to the fact that IDP leagues, though are far more prevelant than they were when I first started playing them some 15 years ago, are still in the cellar as far as fantasy football goes. On the other hand, we basically use PFF's 'Ultimate IDP Scoring System" as our basis to balance out both sides of the ball, and if those cats can break players down to the specific stats that they do, that maybe they, or some other hardcore fantasy nerd out there has devloped a methond or algorithm to track missed tackles, or even easier PI's or ecroachments etc.
