IDP Value Plays, Overvalued Players, and Sleepers (1 Viewer)

As always the staff's well written opinions are appreciated. I don't want to sit here and pick apart anyone's opinions because outside the box thinking is what we're looking for as subscribers. I however will say that ; Aaron I hope you're rubbing your lucky rabbit's feet with Brian Dawkins. :hot:

I also 100% agree with you with Demarcus Ware. I seldom if ever target as him high as he goes in fantasy leagues. I think it's one of the cases where a NFL players real value over shadowing his Fantasy value.

Good stuff guys!

Other than the fact that the deep sleeper section should probably just say sleeper, it was good stuff. I do how ever think DJ Williams will still put up good numbers at Will and to say Will smith this year is over valued I think is a stretch. I think DJ will finish in the Top 3 OLB behind Bulluck and Sims and in the top 15 over all, Will Smith with a health grant and better DTs will get alot of Tkls and sacks. I see Will Smith putting up top 10 but not within top 5 numbers at DE. Last Thomas Davis is not a deep sleeper but will finally have the opportunity to shine at the Will position compared to his stats at the SAM, he had good stats at Sam so it is a give me he will be a top 20 LB at Will were he can roam and see less blocks.

I agree that some of the players aren't really "deep sleepers". We started out with an ADP list of the top 200 IDPs being drafted this summer as our guideline. I think most, if not all, of the players in the sleeper section were being drafted outside of the top-120 or so on average. In a 12-team league, that means pretty much all teams had 10 IDPs on their roster before these guys were being selected. Some have more name recognition than others and some have had success in the past, but they certainly don't appear to carry a high price tag. Thanks for the feedback. Any suggestions for improving this feature next year would also be appreciated.

Here's two points of constructive criticism on general structure and info in the articles:

1. I noticed was the ADP info was inconsistant. For the linemen, you noted "DT1" or "DE9" and for the d-backs you noted "CB3" or "S7", while at the linebackers, they were all just at "LB7" instead of inside/outside. I personally play in only DL/LB/DB leagues and would have liked to know ADP at those positions for the linemen and backs, while I'm sure some people could use the OLB/ILB designations for the linebackers. I think if you could put both in the analysis (i.e. "DB17 - CB7") it would be helpful for all leagues.

2. Also, any indications as to what general basis you were using for scoring (tackle heavy vs. balanced vs. big play) as we all know that has huge impacts on rankings. I suspect it was the traditional FBG balanced scoring, but it wasn't explicitly stated anywhere in the article.

As far as the actual analysis goes, it was spot on and the sleepers put a couple of guys on my radar that hadn't been previously.

Great work as usual!

good points. I should have put both ADPs in. Since we broke out CB vs S and DE vs DT this year, I focused more on that, but it would be easy to include the additional information.tough part about scoring is the ADP could be based on a variety of scoring systems. our commentary will be focused on the value of those players in "standard" leagues but obviously things could differ quite a bit in other types of leagues (deep vs shallow lineups, big play vs tackle-heavy scoring, etc.).thanks for the input.
