IDP's DeMeco Ryans..... (1 Viewer)

Well, after yesterday's game is there any doubt that this kid should be the DROY?

14 solos, 1 assisted, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovered and 3 pass defended.

Added to a 60 point game in most leagues.

What I wonder is how many of the "voters" will overlook this kid.

He steps in and plays MLB in his rookie year for a Texans team that has been terrible, and helps to solidify the middle and can go sideline to sideline like an animal.

But since AJ "Mr. Ohio State" Hawk is a NFL posterboy....will they overlook the true Def. rookie star?

What say you?

First, I say he was always on the radar for anyone doing research prior to an IDP draft. 2 of my leagues have IDP and I only got him in one. Good prospect in a good situation at one of the marquee IDP positions.

Second, I don't know what kind of scoring or league you play in, but 60 points isn't what he put up in "most" leagues yesterday! Especially since he didn't score a TD or anything. He put up 15.5 in my one league and 24 in my other, more IDP focused, league.

I'm glad I got him in a couple of leagues. He averages 24.4 points a week in my league and got me 50 points last week. He should of had a INT for a TD as well yesterday.

He tied our all-time(18 year) record with 30.5 points this week. BTW, Lito Sheppard also tied it this year!!! Ronde just missed.1/tackle, .5/assist, 3/sack, 4/FR, 4/int, 2/ff, 1/PD. Also 6/TD but he failed to fill that box!!!DROY in my book for sure.

Agree the guy is a stud, although 60 does sound a bit high. Had the "pleasure" of going against him this weekend and got torched for 32. Amazing game for an IDP-er for sure.

Shh they're building a pretty good D in Houston.

I like quite a few LBers from this class and am a little grumpy the Pats didn't get one.

Ryans is pretty awesome but so is Hawk. It'll be an interesting vote. I don't think the public prefers MLB over OLB or vice versa.

When no one on your team can tackle it helps.
that could be said about Green Bay's D some weeks too
Hey Hawk is no bust, but easy cheesy........GB doesn't have quite the core of players either. Without Barnett your D is hurting big time....and Hawk didn't make much of an impact when barnett was out of the line-up.Oh and thanks for yesterday's romping....now my boy's have playoff chances!

Daunta Robinson, Demeco and Mario are great young players for this Def. We need major help at CB2 and Safety so if we can add an impact player at one of those positions in this years draft the Texans will be well on their way to a much improved Defense.

Demeco Ryans SHOULD win the award. Second in the NFL in tackles. Im a jets homer and he was a wrecking crew when we played the Texans. The guys name was called more often than Pennington's.

I was surprised he fell to the second round of the NFL draft. I agree with a previous poster. Texans will be a force to reckon with soon. They have a solid core of young players, I look for them to be in the playoffs next year.

No one else has distinguished themselves for D ROY, it has to be this dude in my opinion.

the most overlooked LB this year in my eyes has been Ernie Sims for Detroit.

that kid can fly out there, very very fast reckless OLB.

He's good too. Fernando Bryant sure thinks he hits hard :) That MLB Abdul hodge? the Pack got looks good at times. He doesn't seem like a top player right away like those mentioned in this thread but I think he might wind up being a good one too with some experience.
