Skol!

Debbie Downer Counterpoint:

Scared about secondary. Scared about WR health. Scared about Favre's ankle. Scared about O-line.

I hope Rice's hip is taking it's time healing due to an acute case of iwantanewdealitis. Harvin's migraine's have already impacted his practice, is he gonna miss time randomly this year?

All the starters coming back is great. Brinkley will hold steady while E.J. gets his bearing. Can Favre repeat his play from last year? He might come close but he won't be quite that good. Will the O-line make some room for Peterson? Will Peterson fumble the ball, rather, how many times will Peterson fumble the ball?

I like your pizazz though.

Are you kidding me? The Colts and Saints are still better than the the Vikings and imo Favre is a liability. With the addition of Dez Bryant the Cowfolks are better than the Vikings.

You're just lucky the Vikes lost the coin toss to the Saints, or the Colts would have been blown out. (even more so)

Well Rice needs to be healthy first. Also, that pass defense has to improve. I think GB and DAL are class of the NFC right now, if the Jets actually got Revis in to play this year I'd have to still consider them the favorites though. Nobody will be able to throw on that team, and Sanchez should definitely be better than last year.

I don't like their D as much as last year and so I'd say no. There are a handful of teams I think have a great chance to win and they are one of them. I'd favour the Cowboys just now though.

Harvin and Rice will be fine. Favre will be fine. He will play as good if not better than last year without a learning curve with his weapons. EJ is training like a madman and Brinkley will be better, Greenway and Leber are $ as well. D line is the class of the NFL. Our secondary should be improved with Lito Shepard and Chris Cook. Peterson will be ADP like usual and Gerhert doesnt fumble if AP cant hang on to the ball. Excited to see him run. I like our chances.

The Viqueens will be lucky to make the playoffs. Starting QB not in camp, 2 of the 3 starting WR not in camp, Starting RB in and out of practice. They should be sharp and have their timing down.

You would think after 4 SB losses the Vikings wouldn't want any part of the big dance anymore. Vikings fans couldn't deal with a 5th SB loss :jawdrop:

Haha, there's that coulda, woulda, shoulda game Vikings fans love playing so much. I have been hearing for 12 years, "Had Gary Anderson made that kick, the Vikings woulda beat the Broncos in the Super Bowl."

You better hope that Harvin's time of the month where he gets his "headaches" are not during the most important games.

I feel for Childress. He has to put up with "I have a headache." at home and at work.

He has the son that can't call home to let him know how he is doing or if he will be coming home for Christmas, but will always come back for the money and show up when it's in his best interest.

Then of course you have the younger son who is jealous of the older son because of all the attention he is getting, so he fakes an injury to be noticed.

I have a hard time thinking they'll win it, but then I also have a hard time thinking other favorites will...

I don't understand all the Green Bay hype. Yes, Rodgers is awesome, but is the rest of the team good enough?

The Jets are getting a lot of hype, but they barely even made the play offs last year.

I don't see enough things going right for the Saints this year like last season.

The Cowboys are a glamorous team, but I can see them turning out like last season.

It's hard to tell in the NFC. If Cutler turns it around, the Bears could do better than the Pack and Vikings. I could see the Falcons, 49ers, and maybe even the Panthers make a lot of noise...

Perhaps the Colts would be the safest pick...

The Super Bowl favorites would be the Indianapolis Colts. They're a huge favorite to win their division and more than likely will get a bye in the playoffs. That right there gets you deep into the season. The Vikings have to battle out Green Bay who's more than a solid team.

If Farve plays, I'd make Minnesota the 2nd choice in the NFC behind the Saints. The Saints just have to easy of a schedule and really haven't lost anybody.

Sorry, edge - but this aint happening. The Vikings had the perfect storm last year, and still couldn't even get to the Superbowl, let alone win it. IMHO, the Vikings have done little to improve their team from last year. Compared to some of their competetion in the NFC, they have, in effect, regressed (by virtue of not improving, while teams like the 'Boys, Bears, Packers, Falcons, etc. have gotten better - some, markedly so)

Even with Favre back (remains to be seen) I'm not convinced that they're the best team in their division let alone the NFC. They could certainly be contenders and history has proven that anything can happen in the playoffs but "Superbowl favorites" they are not.

It's not really fair about the division thing as Green Bay could be the top team in the NFC if Minny isn't. The NFL has been built for parity, they don't want one team entering the season as overwhelming favorites to win the SB, they want it wide open just like the Kentucky Derby. They want it so that you can make a case for 10 different teams to make a run at the SB and that's about how it is again this year.

Getting most of the hype in the NFC this year is Dallas. Even though I love Dallas, you can almost scratch them off the list to make it. The writing is on the wall, they'll be talked up beyond belief and whether it's injuries, pressure.......w/e, I can see Tom Jackson and that group on ESPN already discussing the woes in Dallas.

With Farve, Minnesota is definately a top 2 team in the NFC. If you don't believe that, then you didn't watch the NFC Championship game last year. Minnesota gave that game away, absolutely gave it away. The Lions are still terrible, I think Chicago is close to being terrible. I think Green Bay and Minny will split this year.

If Farve doesn't come back, it's over. They'll lose the division, make the wild card and won't have home field advantage where that was absolutely huge against Dallas last season and anyone else they would have played. Jackson doesn't go into Green Bay in the playoffs and beat them, no way.

If Favre is a liability, I really want to know what you think of T-Joke.

The Vikings have done little to improve their team over last year.

I don't even think they win the NFC North [with or without Favre]!

the only questionwill be who get INThe is sure to throw
Crucial interceptions at the worst possible times... repeatedly. Favre needs to just get on his tractor and ride. At least the Jets took action and spent some time thinking about their FUTURE and drafted Sanchez. While the Vikings look like fools again- held hostage by a hillbilly who then compounds matters with another back breaking INT. Glad I'm not a Vikings fan at this point.

Still voted no. That offensive line would get Favre killed against the Giants.
