Is pizza "American" enough? If so you are Otis level wrong because pizza is pretty much the perfect food.

Ask your grandmother. If it couldn't be found in Nebraska in 1950, it's not American.

Easy there big T. My grandma's fried chicken was legendary. As was my great-aunt's Italian food. Plenty of other ethnicities in Nebraska by the 50s. If you want to back it off a half a century then maybe we would have a conversation.

Just about any ethnic food you could name is better than what is thought to be "American food." Mexican, Italian, French, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese- you name it, it's better.

Deep dish pizza, burgers, BBQ ribs, brisket & burnt ends, clam chowder, fried chicken and waffles, corn dogs, Reuben sandwich, Pastrami on rye, Philly cheese steak, s'mores, buffalo wings, mac & cheese, Key lime pie, Cobb salad, cornbread, jambalaya, biscuits & gravy, chicken fried steak, meatloaf, grits, crab cakes, PB&J, popcorn, BLT, Frito chili pie, Po'boy, hot dogs, lobster roll, turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie

That's why Christo likes em fat.

You really think that? Curious as to why?

The taste profile and range of US cooking is unrivaled in most levels - only China can compete.

If agree that, I'm general, French, Italian and maybe Chinese is consider better.

I LOVE me some Indian, but I'd much rather have the range of US than the more limited profiles of Indian.

Yeah but it's all ethnic-influenced. Traditional American food is a ham and cheese sandwich on white bread- and it's American cheese.
