With the majority of kickers projected to post numbers apporoximating that of WR2-3s and RB3-4s, I would think they would be quite a viable flex matchup. After all, do you want to start a Stokely, whose games will fluctuate wildly, or get an almost guaranteed 6-8 points from an Elam/Feely type? A very good play for those weeks when all you need is for your players not to let you down.
What could be very interesting is having a K as a set position AND allowing them as a flex. It would make for interesting choices in deep leagues especially, like chris baker/eric parker or maybe Shayne Graham.
In our league you must start a PK and we allow our flex to be ANY position. Most owners start 2 QBs. We have one guy that last week started Plummer and Brooks.
He would have been much better off to start his second kicker instead of either of his QBs. Of course that is all hindsight...
This is 100% dependent on the scoring system. Pretty much a waste of bandwidth without considering how many FPs kickers and receivers tend to score in your league.
Also be interested to hear how it might affect your draft strategy.. I imagine some guys would not draft a kicker at all...Does anybody think this might be a good idea??
depth of league, depth of roster, matchups and scoring are all key here.
I'm in 2 leagues which require one PK and allow another. IIRC, I have yet to start 2 PKs in either. But, there are some weeks where my benched PK scored more than my WR4.
