If Kolb plays well (1 Viewer)

How ironic Kolb gets a chance to play due to an injury. If he plays well, is there a QB controversy again?

Probably.

I would guess it doesnt matter, Vick will be out at least 2-3 weeks. Im guessing broken collarbone the way he got hit.

Kolb is not going to help this team this year. I doubt he is a starting QB long term from what I have seen of him, but definitely not this season.

What exactly have you seen from him? He's barely played a half of football this year and is a first year starter. You might want to wait on judging him as a long-term bust.

He looks AWFUL out there
Are you watching the Eagles game? He's playing in that one.
He is taking the checkdown on almost every play.
So what?
Unfortunately, when your down by 11 in the 4th quarter, checkdowns have to be exactly that, checkdowns. Also, your going to have to fling the rock. IMO Kolb playing it safe makes no sense, he's already lost his starting job, he has no where to go but down. Throwing checkdowns and not getting your team rolling with some sort of calculated gambles is not going to help you regain your starting job.

He took them to the 1 yard line on his first drive, and to the 30 on the last drive before McCoy fumbled. We are still in the third quarter, and although I agree they need to look downfield, they were ready to make it a one score game. That play right there was pretty bad though.

Havent been watching really, but 6.76 YPA and 2 fumbles doesnt sound like he's doing anything but cementing his status as the backup

7-7 48 yards and a TD on that drive.Considering he hasn't seen first team reps for weeks, this performance wasn't surprising. Now imagine McCoy wouldn't have fumbled just outside the redzone and the officials wouldn't have screwed the Eagles at the end of the half?

Glad you are giving him a chance though, that's good of you. :football:

Agreed. Some people are expecting too much. He's come in and been up and down. Last drive was nice.

This is the problem when people don't watch the game but just look at the box score

Sounds like Kolb might have some time with the job to improve, but right now Vick's got absolutely nothing to worry about..

Yeah, but come on. He's just snapping the ball and waiting for McCoy to roll out so he can make the five yard throw. Washington is letting him. He's not throwing interceptions, but he's not playing well. He's not really doing anything. He doesn't look good.

pretty good summary. anyone that watched the eagles developing mcnabb knows that this is what they do with their young qb's. he might not even be given an option to throw downfield.

Screens, checkdowns, handoffs to McCoyThis is the Kolb repertoire today
Used to be McNabb's repertoire until DeSean showed up.It helps when you've got McNabb there to dump all of that corporate knowledge to Washington's D.C. They were bracketing Jackson and Maclin all game and giving them the underneath.

I watched the whole game Matlock. Next mystery? If you don't understand the concept of a first year starting Qb getting 2nd team reps all week, then coming into the game, then you probably should be watching Dancing with the stars reruns because you just don't get it.

Kolb was fine today, he was far from awful. And I have no dog in this fight either, just think you're way off target. :lmao:
